PIP Timescales

I submitted my mandatory reconsideration request on 23/12. Has anybody any idea about timescales for a reply? I'm not hopeful of a positive outcome on this but I will be appealing. How long will I have to wait for my appeal to be heard? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I waited couple weeks for mandatory reconsideration to be declined . My appeal didn't get heard fill June , as I requested that because I was doing my GCSEs . I'm not sure if your quicker appeal. If you do have to go to appeal I recommend doing to citizen advice . As they helped fill out appeal form and filled it out in a way I would never of thought doing .

Hi, I submitted my mandatory reconsideration 15th Nov and got decision 22nd Dec. The Ming boggles, they stopped my benefits £174 a month and after my mandatory appeal more than trebled it to £559 a month and paid me from the day they stopped it. Didn't have to go to pup consultation or anything, just put my appeal in writing and submitted quick glance medical record from doctors. Good luck and don,t give up.

With esa it said they had 4 weeks to reply to the mandatory reconsideration and they leave it until the very end of the 4 weeks I am not sure if it is the same with pip but imagine it will be . You sent yours just before Christmas so that will delay things a bit they may not have received your forms until after Christmas , you can ring DWP and ask them were they are up to with it , if you haven't heard by the end of next week I would give them a ring . Appeals if it comes to that can take months depending on your area and how many appeals are waiting to go through , welfare rights are the best people to help with an appeal , they will do your appeal forms for you and go to the tribunal with you , citizens advice do not go to tribunals .

Pip and esa are different appeal systems and assessed by different systems.pip appeals take up to 12 weeks.esa mandatory reconsideration 14/21 days then up to 5 months for actual appeals process.each area is different and cases can b sorted out very quickly or can be extremely long drawn out.I would phone very couple weeks to check on progress.

I really hope you don't have to go to appeal and the mandatory reconsideration is successful. However, if you do need to appeal I recommend the Benefits and Work website. They helped tremendously and I got my DLA to PIP with no trouble. There are sections on applying for PIP and how to appeal with excellent advice. It is run by disabled lawyers and they really know the system inside out and backwards. To get access to all the information you will have to join which costs £19.99 per year but, for me, it was worth every penny.

My thoughts are with you.

I didn't,t have to go to tribunal or medical with mandatory reconsideration, I just put my argument down in a letter and sent hospital appointments etc and also put a quick glance medical record in from my go. They responded in four weeks with a positive turn around. Take time to put your letter together, you have a month to do it.

It took them about 10 days to reply saying that their decision was right. They added a copy of their report with their marking scheme. I won't appeal in court cause I have little tolerance to stress. Hope that's answer your question.
