Lupus flare
Hi pinky
Flares are horrible aren't they?. What treatment are you on?. If it's steroids are you able to increase the dose thru your GP to help this time?. I've got a lot of extra pain thanks to a virus and it's horrible!. Be better soonX
I can't imagine how you're dealing with everyday.. Iv just been diagnosed and don't know
Don't know how I'm going cope with looking after my kids...sorry I won't b able to help u with advice but Hope u feel better n take plenty of rest..xx
So sorry, Pinky56 - worth seeing if your rheumy can change your mess to give you some relief . . . And Ramada, I won't pretend anything gets better, but as you learn to deal with this wretched disease, you will find there are good days, and they make the bad days just a little more bearable. And of course we're all acutely conscious that there are new advances in medicine every single day, and auto-immune conditions like ours are clearly in the sights of the scientists, medics and researchers. I am very confident that in the not too far distant future, there will be treatment for lupus and the rest: that's one of the things I cling to.
have a good day, Lupies all, despite the grey, dank weather!
Try to persuade doctor to cut down on medication as the more you take the worse you are going to get.
Hi ripon I'm a little confused as to why you say cut down on meds as they will make me feel worse can I ask why that is because I've always been told you need more help when in a flare .
Hi Pinky 56,
Like you, I was gullible and naive regarding medication prescribed for me.
However, having had 2 hip replacements through no fault of my one having been prescribed steroids for an overactive thyroid gland and having had at least 2 further flare ups due to being prescribed medication containing steroids, you can imagine I'm very wary abou being prescribed medication.
As I was given a radio-active isotope which made my thyroid gland under active, I now take levothyroxine. You can imagine my surprise the other day, when looking this up on Google I discovered I should avoid fluoride toothpastes as well as fluoride water and eat gluten free food, etc.
None of this information was given to me by my doctor.
So I would be very wary about what medication the doctor is prescribing for you as it appears nothing has worked up to now and you are probably much worse than you were in the first place and the only ones who are benefiting from all this is the powerful Pharmaceutical Companies.
