I had swollen glands 2 weeks ago and white spots (tonsilitis). I got penicillin for it and tonsils got aided to pay better but then it started to get like carried on the same and my antibiotics finished tonsils were still hurting so I went to I had my normal renal appointment And I showed him my throat he can see red spots at the top pallet of my mouth and I have thrush down below and in my mouth. Doctor prescribed me some fluconzole. I already booked a doctor's appointment for my throat so in the evening I went to the doctors and it was a phone call doctors prescribed me some amoxyzocillin.

The next day which was yesterday my hands had red spots on it and were very itchy and burning. later on in the day they were still burning the only thing that helped was cold water. Towards the evening so this was some Halloween nigh, the spots started to spread near my neck and my ears were itchy and my head's really itchy and scabby and I think it's chickenpox because my little sister had chickenpox a week ago and she recovered from it. My hands were really painful so I went to hospital and wait there for a long time and they think it's chickenpox on my body but they're not sure about my hands cause my hands spots look Different to the ones on My Body I ve been using steroid creams on my Hands is not Really helping is Really painful the spots are turning into patches and is sore, it's hard to bend and use my fingers well I Don't Know what it is.

Hi Shine54,Do you have a photo of the spots or can you describe what they look like at least?

Like colour ,shape , whether they are raise or flat what structure do they have?

Lupus spot lesion have quite afew various different types depending on when about it is on your body.

I get them on my face , legs body arms, necks, feet basically all over. They all represent slightly different formation. They start of very pink especially the one on the face and legs they will be slightly raise but will not have a head on them they will be painful do not pick them they will be a massive crater and. New lupus spot will form on that same hole. They grow darker over the time as it get older they from a slightly silvery skin and then they drop off.

As for the feet I find they are slightly different they are more purple red and in batches and they peel the skin away from my feet .

For the face , it become more psoriasis dry looking, but the redness increase it doesn't grow as fast as the ones on the leg and the body.

If unsure, try and get to see a dermatologist to confirm this .

Either you have a reaction to the antibiotics or you have a massive reaction to lupus flare up .

Any creams for this types of spot will not help.

They only thing that helped me to slow down the growth and pain is synalar gel it was prescribed by my rheumatologist a long time ago.

Hope you get it sorted out

Suggest you contact your rheumy to get this checked out as they could be some other underlaying inflammation. Make sure you give them the full history of how you this from the start to end don't miss anything out like your antibiotics and fluconozole.Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it because of your lupus you could be showing hyper sensitivity to certain drug.

I had blisters like hives with amoxicillin drugs on my legs.

Being an SLE I have been showing allergic to various drugs to quite alot of antibiotics- a whole string if them , painkillers-Morphine supps and even pre op drugs- fentanyl and remifentanyl , contrast dry -iodine. We are not sure why our immune compromised system has that effect on our body .

You will find several of us on this forum are allergic for various forms of drugs and antibiotics is one of them, some hv contrast dyes or both.

Suggest is talk to the doctor who prescribed you or to your rheumy and see what they say

Thank you, I went to hospital and they weren't sure. They said it looks like chicken pox o my neck and face. My hands look Different. I'm wondering if it's shingles??

U wont have shingles and chicken pox at the same time, shingles is usually a painful rash in one place often around the trunk or head I think never heard of it bring on hands esp both??If they are small itchy blisters on ur hands it could be hand foot and mouth which is easily spread often from small children.??

Chicken pox start off as blisters and then will become red and start to crust over they can be anywhere on or in the body and usually take a few days to spread. Its unusual to get chicken pox twice but not impossible so if u had it when u were a child u should b ok 🤞 I'm immunosuppressed and both my kids have it atm! I'm waiting for my blood results to see if I'm immune as I don't know if I've ever had it so I'm on treatment just in case.

U cannot get shingles from someone with chicken pox but can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles if u haven't already had chicken pox (because basically u have never had the varicella virus).

If u have got chicken pox u will need to isolate until all the spots crust/scab as it's very contagious and potentially dangerous to certain risk groups.

Hope u get sorted!
