I always get the flu jab and have never had any ill effects, the vaccine is made up of a dead virus so it can't make you ill what people suffer after having it is coinsidential that they happen to get poorly at the same time, it is NOT the vaccine causing it! Either that or it is psychological and they think it is the vaccine causing it. I would much rather have the jab than real flu! I have seen people in hospital with "real" flu, many people say they have flu when all they have is a bad cold, flu is debilitating and you are unable to move if you have it and it can cause all sorts of complications so please get the vaccine while it is being offered.

Good luck

Yes I have had it done in September free of charge obvs and had no ill effects from it all went fine id rather take the plunge the have real flu

I have opted out but not without taking precautions. I am taking 1000mg vit c per day and 5000iu vit d and a multi vit. I also often have aloe Vera and a bee pollen backup.

Sterimar is my best friend if I have nasal congestion. Honey and lemon drinks and a reduction in dairy at the first sign of a cold.

Regular garlic and fresh herbs as well

Yes.

At the moment I am attempting to go down the natural route as far as possible with all things.

In my opinion with the knowledge of how the body works and the billions pumped into healthcare research worldwide together with the advent of the internet we should all be virtual superhumans. Not suffering with or scared of one ailment after another.

Pharmaceuticals are just another industry with the public and healthcare providers as consumers.

I am presently seeing whether i might get better responses by going the nutriceutical route. Ie eating as well as possible to maximise my bodies ability to fight infection instead of relying on ever increasing numbers of drugs or vaccinations that all have potential side effects.

If, as we do, we eat foods lacking in vitamins and minerals, due to processing methods we will become deficient over time. Those deficiencies may well be the difference between being someone who successfully keeps diseases and aches and pains at bay and those who suffer the effects.

Its my reasoning together with reports from many i know who have suffered adverse reactions in recent years.

I dont expect to have my viewpoint shared as the medical profession who work very closely with pharmaceutical companies seem have decided that 'everyone' will benefit from vaccinations which the drug companies will gladly make and sell each year.

Quite agree with all you say. The pharmaceutical companies are the ones that are benefiting (financially) not us. Much of the medication being handed out is making people much more ill than they were originally.

I had mine last week in my good arm as I am recovering from shoulder surgery on my right (dominant) arm. I have had no ill effects and my good arm was only mildly sore. As a teacher I felt it wise to have it as I am exposed to many bugs and viruses.

Hi Ruth

Despite having a flu jab flare 2 years running I have been advised how important it is to have the flu jab as it shows how devastating real flu would be. My doctors have also said having a reaction is a good sign that my immune system is working properly and not overly suppressed which can lead to problems. If your in one of the at risk groups then I'd advise you to have it but it's your decision and if it would help talk to your doctors or Lupus nurse. X

Hello, I too was very nervous about having the flu jab, but have just had my fifth one and have not had any bad effects at all. Go for it, much better than getting flu. PS : I haven't had a cold either since I had these , (hardly dare say that, in case I tempt fate.)

Good luck

This doesnt mean that anyone opting for a flu shot will be unsafe but it might be provide some indications as to why some may opt against flu vaccinations
