Hello

You have my sympythies it's horrible. I lost too much weight and funnily enough it's really hard to put weight back on.

There are lots of a to sickness drugs out there. I found stemitil the best just short term didn't have any side effects for me.

Eat small, often, high calorie things or bars. Don't worry too much about eating really healthy you can do that later.

You can also get high carb shake drinks on perscription if you ask GP.

Hi Sarah 74 I'll speak to the doc about the drinks and antisickness stuff, I hadn't thought about that. I must have got bogged down in my own misery LOL. Thanks for the advice xx

I also suffer with bouts of nausea and really empathise with you. I lost a stone in just a few months ( which was awful when I was only 8 stone to start with) no one really gets how hard it is to put the weight back on when you feel nauseous and feel like you can't eat..... I agree with the above - try and eat little and often. I find little chunks of 'dairy milk' popped into my mouth at regular intervals helps!!! Also, drinking fizzy water.

Take care and hope you get some relief soon xxx

Hi MargaretGail

Could the nausea be caused by the Hydroxy?. If so could the dose be reduced?. You say your flaring, do you have treatment with steroids for this? Just some thoughts, hope you feel better soonX

Hi Misty 14 I had a steroid injection 2 weeks ago but had a chat with the rheumy via the receptionist this morning and am back on oral steroids. I need to be fit enough for my sons wedding in 2 weeks. Thanks for taking the time to contact me x

I can also empathize with you, except I think I get nauseated for a different reason. When my pain gets intense, I get extremely nauseated. It is horrible! (I also have fibromyalgia). It have a standing script for Zofran, which is what they mainy use here in the US. Don't now how I would get thru all of this without it. Good luck in getting some medication! Take care!

Thanks SuePlu, before I started getting the responses from everyone I genuinely hadn't thought of anti sickness drugs xx

MargaretGail.....with everything that we, as patients of this DD, have going on, it isn't surprising that you didn't think of meds to help with this. That is why I think sites like this are good! If I I have a worry or issue on my mind, it always helps me to mow that other people feel the exact same way! For example, we have a HUGE winter storm approaching us right now and I have been badly nauseated for the last 12 hours or so. So the timing on your post was perfect! I need to practice what I I preach! LOL!!! I do hope this passes quickly for you!

Definitely speak to your doctor about this. He/she can help with this symptom and if we can find just ONE thing to help through (over selves). Take the leap, ask for the med, and I am pretty sure that I am watching the correct channel!

Now that was strange as I read your post my daughter started telling me about the storm! I will see the Doc again my Son gets married in 2 weeks and I fully intend to be there. This site is really useful! Thanks again. X

Hi MargaretGail,

I'm so sorry to hear that your flaring at the moment and suffering from the "dreaded nausea" too. I'm just getting over a 4 week flare and I too for the first time suffered from terrible nausea so I can totally sympathies with you. I've lost a stone in 4 weeks as I felt so sick all the time that I just couldn't face eating. After 2 weeks of nausea I asked my gp if their was anything that could help and she prescribed buccal tablets which you let dissolve in your upper gum and they really helped so it might be worth trying something like that. I also found that bland picky foods were more tolerated and plenty of water.

I hope this helps and you feel better soon. Sarah X

Thanks Sezzie, I have been off work for 4 weeks with no sign of a reprieve yet but I have actually heard of Buccal so if it continues I will investigate that.

Hopefully, you will be able to get some help from the doc! It sure has helped me! With this storm, other than all the symptoms I was already experiencing, the exhaustion has hit me like a ton of bricks!! UGH!!! I think this is the worst part of these ! Luckily, being forced to stay in my house is probably to my advantage. I can't stay awake more than 2 hours. Hubby and daughter getting frustrated with me at this point. Oh well....l Hope you have been able to talk to the Doc and got help. Hang in there! Feel better........

See ya! Sue

Yes I'm also having hubby and daughter problems I think that they now believe I've completely lost it.

Oh, I am sorry sorry that your are also having problems with hubby and daughter. How old is your daughter? Mine is 19, still lives at home as she is not motivated to do anything, AND she knows it ALL!!!! She doesn't do crap around here to help me out in any way, which is frustrating! Yes, we have had talks with her, have tried everything with her, nothing is working. As for hubby, he is also a patient of extreme pain levels as he has a bad back. But girl, let me tell ya......he is he ONLY one with pain problems. Lord, that is all I I hear about. Also having fibro, this storm is KILLING me! I have been trying to cook these great meals for them, doing everything I can to make it nice around here for "snow days". Do they appreciate it? Hell if I know! as they don't share that info with me.....Sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent there.....Hope you are having a good day,

I think I might be having it a bit easier than you. My daughter is 32 living back at home and is also off work sick but with a slipped disk. She is verbally supportive. Hubby is depressed my wages pay the mortgage and he thought we had a fairy doing the house work.

Sorry about your daughter! That sucks about her back! Yeah, you do have it easier than me! I wish I had my 30 year old at home to help. The age of 19 SUCKS!! LOL!!! I hear ya on the hubby depressed! I am on disability, so I get a monthly check! but it doesn't go far...As for the cleaning fairy, do you suppose this is something ALL men think? :) hope you are doing well today. We are having a big ice storm,so. I am hurting from the fibro. Otherwise, better today, just still got the exhaustion, which is yet ANOTHER bone of contention with my husband. UGH!!!

Hi, I find drinking ginger tea or nibbling ginger biscuits really helps with my bouts of nausea..might be worth a try as alternative or alongside antisickness pills..Ope you get some respite from it soon x
