Its been 5 and a half weeks since I had an MRI scan taken of my brain i have lupus and am being tested for CNS disease. Not had any results yet.

Is this the normal amount of time usually taken or I bein impatient.

you should have results by now why dont you phone your consultant or secrety

I would think no news is good news! Consultant should def seen your results by now and if there was anything sinister or significant they would be in touch straightaway via your GP or phone, thats how my hospital works anyway - so try not to worry. If in doubt contact GP as they can contact consultants secretary for a verbal result :)

When my MRI showed problems I was asked by the radiographer when my next appointment was he also said the scan images would be ready for them to see immediately and it would be followed by a report within a couple of days. If there was a major problem you would have heard by now. If you are still worried then do as farmferster sugests and contact your consultants secretary they will be able to look results up and get either consultant to call you back or send results via post.

The consultant has given me her email and has said to email her every week to remind her to check gor results so up until yesterday there was no reports.

i had MRI recently on brain looking at lupus cns and the radiographer asked when appointment was next and within two days had seen the neurologist so fingers crossed for you that no news is good news :-)
