Nintedanib and Docetaxel

Hi All,

Its been a while since I posted but I have kept reading all the posts. I had Pemetrexed and Cisplatin finishing in April last year. I'm stage IV Lung cancer. I didn't have any maintenance for a variety of reasons and have kept very well. I have CT scans every 3 months and they keep saying, stable not much progression. I had shoulder pain and we treated that with some radiotherapy which was painless apart from the sore throat. Not nice at all but I survived it.

I have been getting pain under my rib cage on my side as the pleura thickens and the fluid increases and it now seems to be moving round to the front rib cage.

I have just had another scan and again not a lot of progression but if you compare it back to my October scan its quite a bit, not huge but definite movement. Consequently the decision is we will try Nintedanib and Docetaxel together. I know this is a fairly new combination drug and would like to know from anyone who has been on it recently. A few seem to have had it a while ago whilst it was presumably a trial drug combination.

Any information on side effects and what was happening when you were originally prescribed it would help. I am already 8 months past my sell by date and would like to keep it that way if possible.

Thanks everyone and hope you are all keeping well in the wet weather, oh we have sunshine for a few minutes, no doubt it will rain again soon.

Jeanne

Dear Jeanne,

So sorry I can't help you with information about your treatment or drugs. You sound a very positive person, getting on with life as best you can. I wish you all the best with this new treatment and after reading your post I felt more positive about my own progress. i have lung cancer, came back 15 months after surgery removing 60% of right lung, but having treatment. So good luck with the treatment and hang in there I can tell you are a fighter.
