Hi Sally789,

I’ve used Allclear for travel insurance on 2 occasions and they have been very good.

I have stage 4 lung cancer with bone mets and I too initially tried a lot of travel insurance companies without success. I have since used InsureCancer and Mia Travel Insurance for single trip cover, but have found Insurancewith the most reasonable cost wise, most straightforward in obtaining and I even managed to secure an annual policy for Europe. Thankfully I haven’t needed to claim so can’t comment on that aspect. Hope you get sorted and have a fabulous holiday.

Insurance with. I have travelled using them for the past three years. I have stage 4 EGFR lung cancer and have found them very helpful. If you are turned down on line phone them as often you will get a reasonable quote by going through the medical underwriting team.

I found Insurewith very reasonable and I travelled abroad.

Apologies Sally. It was INSUREANCEWITH and not Insurewith.

Depends on where you're going, what type of holiday, what treatment you have had or are having, what stage of cancer you had/have and any other conditions but always worth shopping around. I use comparison sites payingtoomuch.com and medical travel compared which covers several companies who claim to cover cancer. It also depends on whether you're still in investigations for cancer or other conditions in which case it is very hard to get cover as they don't know what risks they need to cover

I know that insurance with and insurecancer.com cover lung cancer patients at all stages and don't use algorithms to screen people out but usually discuss over the phone the exact situation and come up with premiums accordingly.

Some countries where tourists are sent to private hospitals tend to be more expensive such as Spain, America, Canada and the Caribbean. I didn't travel for 5 years after my diagnosis finding the premiums too high but restarted travelling in 2016 and travelled extensively since for work and leisure and until 2019 had to obtain a single cover policy for every trip even if only a few days but was then offered an annual policy from Saga who had changed their question from 'have you ever been diagnosed with cancer?' to 'in the last 5 years have you been diagnosed with cancer?'. Good luck with your travel planning.

Hi Sally , I couldn’t find anyone to insure me and when I eventually did it was soo expensive, I go without it but only travel to Spain and canaries I use my GHIC card so am covered if I need to go into public hospital and my house insurance covers my phone jewellery etc I have credit card to cover flight if I need to come home and I wouldn’t travel if I felt unwell , the only thing am not covered for is cancellation but I book last minute and repatriation, this isn’t the right advice to give but I have just took the chance , I wouldn’t be able to afford the insurance and the holiday , my quotes were all over £1000 , not for one minute am I advising you to do this but just telling you what I do.

hi

I used insurewith for mine, lots of people say to ring up rather than do on line, but I found insurewith had options for my cancer listed.

Try albert&eddie, it's a comparison site owned by the company that also owns insurancewith and holidaysafe. I had lung cancer treated by surgery / chemo in 2014 (no recurrence to date) but then prostate cancer in 2016, recurred 2024 and had chemo, now on indefinite HT drugs.

They only compare in-group quotes and I got worldwide annual cover for my wife and I at a very competitive price when many others wouldn't even quote.

It depends on where you’re going for cost. Mexico, Cuba and the Caribbean are very expensive. I’ve used Insure cancer to go to Kos and Good to go for Cyprus. Both very good.
