Under active thyroid

I was diagnosed 10 years ago with an under active thyroid, I’ve still not got my levels right, I felt extremely unwell on levothyroine, would self medicate depending on how I felt, I increased my dose to 200mg which eventually made me feel worse then reduced them to 150mg still felt Terrible. December I decided to go to a private doctor At the Reenhance clinic in hale Manchester who prescribed nature thyroid 1 grain which I took 1 a day for 3 months I felt awful so I went to my GP for a blood test and my Tsh was 33.93 mu/L T4 8.2pmol/L I felt horrendous! I informed the private doctor of my levels and he increased my dose to 2 grain, but said they couldn’t get NAture Throid so he gave me ERFA 2 grain125mg said it was the same!! as they couldn’t get NT anymore, I was charged £120 for ERFA 100 tabs. It seemed to help me feel better so I asked for More when I ran out and this time charged me £170.00, as they said it was hard to get! So I paid got my tablets. Taking 2 a day, due for bloods. I’ve decided to no longer go through this practice as I feel they make it up as they go! So I paid another £95 to see another private doctor who wrote a prescription for t3 and t4 but didn’t name a product! As she said she couldn’t write a prescription for an unlicensed medication ? Yet to go to the pharmacy recommended with my prescription to see wha he gives me as I still have 2 months worth of the ERFA My issue is I’ve been so unwell for such a long time my GP isn’t interested and I feel I’m self medicating and feel alone and bit worried now about what I’m taking does anyone take ERFA if so how much, and what are you being charged? Should I stick with it or go back to my GP and insist on them giving me T3 which I know they won’t! Feel so frustrated😳😞

Perhaps you could put the post on the HealthUnlocked Thyroid Forum - not sure if the LSN group will help - apart from understanding your frustration!
