Showering with bandages

I've been offered a course of bandaging (for my arm) and wondered whether anyone had advice about showering. I've seen some cast protectors on Amazon, which look like they'd keep the bandages dry (the LimbO make seems to be recommended by the NHS) but I'm just a little concerned that the elastic top might restrict lymph flow. (Perhaps it doesn't matter if it's just a quick shower.) Maybe I should wait and see what they recommend at the clinic, but I'd quite like to have something in place so that I don't have to wait too long before showering - my partner won't thank me πŸ˜€!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Limbo are very good and they won't restrict flow for the purpose of a quick shower.

Thanks for replying so quickly, Naomi. That's very good to know.

By the way, I'm getting on well with my LymphaPress and am glad I made the investment in the end. Measurements taken at my last clinic appointment show that I'm making progress...

The limbO will work well. The elastic top lid needed to ensure your bandages remain dry. The limbO is available on prescription so speak to your GP or lymph clinic about script

I had a course of both legs being bandaged. Those at the clinic were loathe to recommend (or supply) any protection in case of falls. Maybe work around the problem for the period of bandaging. In any case look forward to when they are removed :-)

Thanks Teresa. I'm already looking forward to their removal but haven't even begun yet! (Grateful to be offered treatment though!) πŸ™‚

Over the years I've had multiple courses of bandaging, both on my legs and my arm - I recommend Limbo products, they are amazing allowing you to shower with confidence all through treatment. They're easy to get on and keep the bandages dry, just make sure to use a non slip may in the shower.

Many thanks Flers,I did get one in the end and have had my first successful shower. I was a bit apprehensive but everything stayed dry! πŸ™‚
