I am having a total gastrectomy in December and have been told that I will need to take a multi vitamin for the rest of my life, however the one the dietician recommended has vitamin K in it.
Can anyone recommend a multi vitamin without this vitamin in that I can purchase in uk please.
Many thanks

There are plenty of brands around, but do check with GP and Specialist before you start on it, to double check. I would also consider giving the dietician a ring, as they may have another one to suggest if you explain the problem. MaryF
Hope all goes well for your surgery in December.I would have another word with your dietitian- I'm presuming you are concerned for your INR levels? If you are taking the same supplement tablets daily, it should be OK, they will adjust your warfarin tablets accordingly.
Also ask for them on prescription rather than you purchasing? They can be a bit funny with NHS supplements but if you are being told it's a total necessity you shouldn't have to purchase.
I'm sure you will see the dietitian again once in hospital to go through all this.
I have bile acid malabsorption so am deficient in a lot of vitamins. I’m prescribed omacor (which is omega) and get B12 injections but then just told to buy high strength others. I get mine from Amazon and I buy vit D, C, K, iron, biotin, folic, and I take collagen as well. I found a multi vitamin just didn’t cover the strength I required.
Hi, do you take individual vitamins then rather than a multi Vit? That could be the way to go but I need to take a wide variety of them. Do you find the collagen works?
best to ask Clinic what is minimum Vit K allowable. Could be the amount in a multi vitamin capsule maybe below that. Also it’s when you eat VIT K heavy foods , on top. Google all that . The daily multivitamin capsule is essential if gastric bypass as not getting the nutrients .
