tracking vitamin K

I have been on warfarin for over 25 years. Recently, my INR has fluctuated significantly. I have never tracked my intake of vitamin k but made sure I had some throughout the week. I wonder if I tracked my vitamin K intake it may impact the fluctuation of my INR.

I would appreciate input. If anyone has references for charts as well as your process that would be appreciated.

I don't track my intake of Vit K in detail, but if my INR is low, I'll avoid or only have a little of a food with Vit K that day or maybe 2 days. If my INR is too high or near my upper limit, I may well make sure I eat some greens that day or 2. Otherwise, I generally try to have foods containing at least some Vit K on most days to avoid spikes or dips. However, I'm aware that there are various things that will affect my INR Hope you get your INR more stable soon.

Best wishes

Kerry

Thanks for your information. I completed the same method in the past but I wonder if I should be more exact to see if that impacts my levels. Take care

I try to have a small portion of green veg twice a week. I find cabbage affects my inr more than broccoli does so do try to avoid it even though I prefer it.

So many things affect my inr though, poor sleep, stress and infection all make it higher.

Thanks for your thoughts. I need to keep in mind the other factors that impact my INR. Keep well

do you self test with your own machine or have venous bloods done? Either way worth checking with your local warfarin clinic or haematologist. I’ve been in warfarin for 15 years and it’s usually about the same until last year it suddenly went high. Went to the warfarin clinic and while waiting read the notice boards snd realised I’d been using a cream prescribed by sa GP but I read it interacted with warfarin andafter stopping it imy inr quickly went back to normal So if your using any different I’m medication or creams it’s worth checking with experts

I've been on warfarin for alot of years and also have to watch my intake of Vitamin K , I'm checked every 2 weeks, if I'm out of range it'll be every week. It went sky high 🫢 a few weeks ago, worked out I'd been having Turmeric in Honey ( so delicious 😋) on my porridge so decided I'd stop it for a week and just have my usual immunity, Honey or the lemon & ginger , when I was tested the week after I was back in, so Turmeric Honey is off my menu now 😀, or maybe just a little bit now and then 😀
