I had my aorta valve replaced and thanks to Wiitij's suggestion, I gave my surgeons in writing, the bridging plan from my hematologist. The operation was successful and so far no clots have been formed. After a week of lovenox injections twice a day and Coumadin, my INR is back to where it should be.

I am so glad you are done with this, one less hurdle to jump over. I am sure you were frightened... the night before this surgery is the worst. I pray all stays well, as i am sure it will. Gosh, i spoke to you so very long ago, thank you for remembering me. I am thrilled for you, Cindy

Awesome! So glad to hear you're on the mend! I had my mitral valve replaced in July 2006. I was the first patient the hospital ever had with the combination of APS and valve surgery. Bridging works really well I've had numerous successful procedures since.

Wow....congrats. you had a similar procedure to what I went through 5 years ago. I'm so glad it went well for you.

When you are able, I recommend you get in the pool and swim often. It's great exercise for us!

I am in cardiac rehab for 1 1/2 hours per week. I walk 20 minutes on the treadmill, ride the stationary bike for 10 minutes, the nu-step for 10 minutes as well as an arm weight machine and lifting weights. I will be doing this for 36 sessions. I do swim in the sound on the weekends.
