Here's what I made for dinner tonight, I love quinoa and its a complete food as it contains all the vital amino acids that our bodies need. I also often cook it with red lentils as they both really compliment one another. I sautรฉed onions mushrooms home grown courgette and home grown tomatoes with dried chilli black pepper and ginger and just left it to cook nice and gently whilst the quinoa and lentils cooked.
Quinoa is a great grain replacement as its gluten free and I often use it instead of rice, I also grind some in my coffee grinder and use that as a plain flour.
Looks good, Jerry. I have to confess to never having tried quinoa, although we eat lots of lentils. Great to be eating your own garden produce at this time of year too!

Thank you TT, I think lots of foods are like that until we try them. Lentils are really good and I know you grow veggies so you eat well thatโs the main thing. ๐

Thank you Hidden Iโve never had so many baby tomatoes so have enjoyed the home grown veggies. ๐
I was watching a documentary about quinoa last week. Seems it's become a big hit because of its high protein levels fitting well with the veganism boom.
Landscapes and ecosystems are being destroyed as a result but the boom also brought a lot of prosperity to farmers, resurrecting whole villages and almost lost cultures - they were introducing the farmers to permaculture so that they are able to maintain the crop yields without destroying the ecosystem and so the farmers could keep the prosperity of their villages and cultures alive so it did end on a positive note
