Sometimes walking helps loosen our bowels so I'm sorry that you are struggling as it sounds very unpleasant.

I am saddened to read about your difficulty :0( but might have a very easy answer to your problem. I discovered this decades ago using what I call -- "intuitive adaptive application." Instead of using the product as directed for the one time use when a medical procedure was to be done, I began to apply it as a blockage preventative. This IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE!!! rather a thought I had that has worked for me and other's I have suggested it to.

Magnesium Citrate liquid is a laxative used to induce bowel cleansing needed for some medical procedures and also used to relieve constipation. INSTEAD of drinking the solution as directions instruct, I simply shake the sealed bottle then apply the liquid to the inside's of my wrists, elbows, the back of my knees and on my ears. Via skin transmission into the blood stream the MagCit with find its way into my digestive tract and softens everything thus allowing expulsion. If too much liquid is applied the results can be explosive and watery so it is best to apply sparingly at first. Results generally occur 6 to 12 hours after application.

AGAIN, this suggestion is ONLY a suggestion from my personal experience seeking a solution to an issue many individuals as myself has had. GOOD LUCK

Have you tried glycerin suppositories?

I find they help move things along if I get bunged up

Speak to your GP, that is what they are there for. Good luck and stay well X

Hi. I too was born with spina bifida and for the last 3 months have been suffering with constipation. Back in july 2020 my GP prescribed me cosmoscol (laxative sachets) I was told to start with sachets 3 a day and if things dont improve to increase to 8 sachets a days. Now in September I'm still suffering GP has failed to make further investigation. AE a waste of time

Have you heard of Optibacs? They can be taken with laxitives or on their own. They have bio live cultures. Have a Google I take the green box ones they come in sachets. Always gets things moving for me.

Hello.

I have the same problems with constipation. I don't come out for days, I have been to the hospital, but my problem was not solved. I don't come out for a week, and when I do I stay on the toilet 2+ hours. It's very painful and poo is as strong as a brick. To be able to take it out, lately I use the shower jet. It might not be advisable but it helps me remove my poo and relieves my pain and bloating.

I don't advise that to anyone, but if your problem is getting serious maybe that's the only option. I must say that I have taken all kind of laxatives and my problem got worse. I've had enemas, glycerol suppositories, laxido, Lactulose, senna, fybrogel and nothing really works. Senna gives me diarrhea and very severe cramps.

Hi Julz, I have a spine injury and Tourettes syndrome so I'm on a cocktail of meds including opiates and anti-psychotics = sometimes I can't think rationally and take opiates without drinking enough fluids. For the past 5 years I've put 20ml of Lactulose in my morning coffee and another 20ml of Lactulose in an afternoon fizzy or hot drink... It mainly keeps things regular with the odd bout of constipation that is awful and requires me to stop all opiates for enough hours to allow a bowel movement after which I can restart the routine.. Hope that helps if you haven't already tried it. P.
