First constipation, then urge to poop and nothing but bright red blood. Dr said chronic constipation, prescribed Miramax and benefiber. Two months later , the urge to go often and only bloody mucus . Anyone experienced this before?

Hello tford you need medical guidance here especially as this has been going on for 2 months.

Please see your Dr ASAP.

I wish you well with this.

Jerry.

I did see 3 ers all said internal hemorrhoids and chronic constipation. I have taken stool softners, benefiber, suppositories, and same thing happening. This is month #4. It goes from pooping a little bit to bloody mucus and repeat. This sucks

I’ve had splatters of blood rarely but twice the bowl was all red and it freaked me out. I saw a dr. (a proctologist) and was told I had hemorrhoids. They were close to the outside so he was able to just tie them rather than operating. I have some blood at times, I see some blood on the toilet paper. Make sure to 🚩get a colonoscopy because blood may be a sign of cancer and it’s a great disguise. I’m not trying to scare you but it’s a very good idea to get one. (I know, it sucks but so does cancer). god luck, Lewis

Thanks I think u are right cause this has gone on too long. It goes from pooping a little bit too bloody mucus and repeat. I have had stool testing, blood work, stays and all are negative. I need the colonoscopy to get to what's really wrong. One Dr said it was a blockage. Time to be sure

What sort of diet are you on? Are you getting plenty of fibre from veg and I mean lots? Also you need to drink plenty of water as that keeps really does help you to poo. Plenty of water = 2 litres at least of water each day. Bright red blood is a good sign though - tends to be from piles - so if you are constipated, I'm thinking you are straining to poo and that makes the piles burst. So increase the natural fibre and water as well as what the doc prescribes. Also I think bright red blood tends to splatter round the bowl. Dark red blood in the poo tends to be a sign of cancer. I believe it is hard to spot as it just makes the poo very dark

That said, I am no medic. Do the self help stuff - fibre and water - but also keep checking back with the doc
