Hi Alicat50 ,

Welcome to the Healthy Eating forum. :-) Sorry to hear you've had a rough start to the year, and I hope that things will improve for you.

I'm going to give you a link to the 'Vegetarian and Vegan' information page from NHS Choices:

nhs.uk/livewell/vegetarianh...

I'd also suggest having a look at the NHS 12 week plan, and the NHS weight loss forum for extra support on the losing weight side of things - they have weekly weigh-ins that are supportive and free to join.

Do have a look around the Healthy eating forum, especially the 'Topics' - and I hope that you'll enjoy participating here, and I hope to see you around and about.

I've been looking for Vegetarian recipes - as I would like to try more varied and interesting meals, so if you come across any great recipes, please do share them.

Wishing you a great weekend and a really good week ahead.

Zest :-)

Hi Alicat

It is not easy to give you perfect advice on the info we have. For example I would need little bit more info on the type of health issue you have. You see, some health problems can not be combined with some diets. Furthermore, to know about your current eating habits will be important. It might be, that the changes you will need to introduce, will be just very small but important onestuff. If you would like to get in touch, I can help you to make a plan and get you going

Hi Barb

Sorry to hear about your health problems. Yes, depending on your condition and what problems you have, I am able to help. Most of the health problems are not in a way of loosing weight. There is only small number of conditions, which, due to medication used, are preventing from loosing weight. You can PM me and we can talk in details about the possibilities.

You not being able to exercise or even walk too much will slow things down a little, however I am working more on nutrition side, therefore, it will not stop you totally. In my experience it is 80% nutrition and only 20% exercise. I myself lost 11kg without any exercise within 2 months. Only after I added some very low level exercise to further boost the results.

I have been obese and decided to do something about it. So I started to look for info and did Diploma in human nutrition. It was first to help myself, but I realised, that there are lots of other people with the same problem, so now I help others to do the same.
