I have taken a break from dating (or even one night stands) for a while in order to work on healing myself. This was a huge step and I have (surprisingly) loved single life but I wanted to dip my toes back into the dating pool. Not necessarily anything serious (what happens will happen though) but I am a little nervous. My last breakup was nothing short of messy. Any tips on helping cope my overthinking when it comes to love/trusting people?

My best advice would be take things slow, make sure you feel safe and don't have too many expectations.

I think it's great you have the courage to get back out there.

I would explore the red flags you’ve missed with past situations, and look for those (openly communicate them). Make a list of things you insist on being in a partner, things you would like, and things to avoid in a partner. Ask questions and get to know them before you decide to meet. Not everyone is worth your time in person.
