Nightmares aren't leaving me alone

Against_the_current profile image

Anytime i sleep i have nightmares about my family. Many nightmares. Mostly of mom throwing her tantrums and saying she will leave us to dad's new family. Yesterday i worried she will be alone, today i dream of her rejecting me. I talked to my therapist. She said rejection deeply hurt me. Mom's rejection, dad's, my friends' for nye. On nye mom was drinking, i asked her to stop, she said "you think im an alcoholic but you're a drug addict" referencing my meds. The stigma of mental health. My friends call me annoying and negative, mom calls me drug addict. Im staying all day alone now that im having only exams not classses.Nightmares are driving me crazy. I can't sleep without 10 nightmares about mom throwing tantrums and 5 nightmares about dad's baby. It is gonna grow up until i accept it. And when i waje up, my body is in the state as if it happened in front of me. Im crying, nauseous and dizzy and having headache. I feel unrested and i go to sleep again and have the nightmares again and now including grandma. And I feel like it's truth. Im going insane with these nightmares 😭

Nightmares are truly terrible and I know they take it out of you. I am so sorry that you have so many...

I really feel for you as I know how it's like.

I agree staying away from family is a good idea until you finish with exams as you really need all your focus and energy right now and it is very hard with bad sleep / lack of sleep so you are doing the right thing.

Good luck with your exams...

Thank you Nathalie. I really needed some empathy

Empathy is key here. Stay away if they are toxic. I tend to have the same nightmares over an over with minor twists. They feel so real until you wake up and when I wake up.....I am screaming and crying. Make sure you put yourself first!

Same, wake up in absolute terror. I guess staying away from them is the best for my mental health

I am sorry to hear you have all of those nightmares. I used to have ALOT myself. Until about eight years or so ago. I heard about prazosin. It helps to loosen up the blood vessels in the brain and that’s why it helps knock those nightmares down.

That is just what I do to help me. Please do what you know is best.

Wow, that sounds pretty awful. I hope you do well in your exams and your nightmares disappear. At one time I had very bad sleep and I started taking sedatives from canadapharmacy.com/ which worked great. I also paid more attention to an active lifestyle and to my health in general. It helped me feel great and have a good, restful sleep
