Side effects I am having and struggling with are , feeling sick but very hungry ....but worst all vision blurry , extremely dizzy , faintish ( sugary drink helps this ), lightheaded , drowsey ... Particularly in morning to lunchtime . I keep reading and being told to stick with it they get better and ease off after a couple of weeks ? Would love to hear some feedback and any others experiences similar with this .

Thanks

Andrew

Hi and welcome MrICanIsleep, I am on mertazapine 45 mg but it’s so long ago since I started this I really can’t remember side effects. I take mine at night as i go to bed. I really think with all the side effects you are experiencing you would be best to be reviewed by your doctor and discuss what you are experiencing with her/him. We’re really not qualified to give medical advice. I can however say that mertazapine is the only anti depressant that has worked long term for me.All the best with gettign to what’s causing the side effects.

Hi!

Mirtazapine is very drying to your body. This side effect will not go away. It has an effect on your vision, teeth, skin, and probably a lot of other things. It is important to keep hydrated. Talk to your dentist and eye doctor about the dryness problem too. Lots of hand and body cream! Weight issues are very common too. Talk to your pharmacist (chemist) to get the best information about side effects.
