Has anyone helped heal their PTSD with any particular anti-depressant that has worked really well for them for quite some time ??? I know it's each to their own, but i am very intetested in what works for other ppl,... i was on Lexapro 20mg per day for a year until now,... and it just wasn't working anymore,... i think i had had to much emotional pain from a tragic and very painful loss,... so my doc started me on Mirtazapine 15 mg a day, which i have been on for a week now, and feel AMAZING so far !!!... i have been able to look at reminders of my painful tragic loss without bursting into tears, i also enjoy communicating with ppl again (haven't wanted to talk to anyone for months) i think that this new med im on, is definately working for now,... but i still suffer from RLS and ANXIETY,... so my doc. prescribed Clonazepam 0.5 mg, for me to take 2 at night for these issues,... it was putting me to sleep nicely with NO restless legs since starting it 1 week ago but i feel like i need to take maybe 1 more to go to sleep,... as i can't get to sleep and don't want many different meds,.... i have googled and looked on this forum of what dose of Clonazepam some ppl take that works,... so this is my first post and i was wondering if anybody is taking Clonazepam, and how many mg does it take to work for you to go to sleep,....don't wan't to go to doctors unless emergency because of this bloody Corona Virus so im trying many ways to see what works for ppl and get ideas etc....... ???

Hi,

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry you are experiencing multiple issues. It is harder with RLS.

I haven't had much positive results in antidepressants. I think that it is complex with RLS and it can be difficult to find what medication works as it's different for everyone.

Can you have a telehealth call with your GP? Maybe they can advise something else for RLS that can help you sleep.

Melatonin might help but I heard it's prescription only in Australia.

It's a tough time right now to get medical advice but it's important that you get enough sleep.

I'm sorry I don't have more ideas.

Sending support and hope you find a better medication.

I too am on mertazapine 45 daily. I have treatment resistant depression and finally made my way through them to this medication. I have been on it for well over six years now which is a record for me, normally after a year or less they would loose their help for me. I wish you well on this medication which I suspect they have started you in on a smaller dose to build it up or titrate up in stages.
