Help Brain Dying due to recieving low blood supply

I have been unwell since 2016. From 2014 to 2018 I was working in a chemical firm exposed to chemical fumes and droplets. From 2016 I have seen various neurologists, had 2 mri scans (1 privately) and was given various medications (amitriptyline, nortriptyline, pizotifin, Levitracetam all of these made me feel suicidal so I stopped taking them) to treat a chronic migraine with an aura which has no permanent cure which I developed due to exposure of chemicals. During this period my blood pressure was low but no one investigated why and just informed me that my blood pressure is low but never provided the values. I then had covid twice left with long term effects including wheezing and extreme fatigueness. In May 2021 I collapsed three times in one day in a 30 minute period and I was rushed to a&e as I had facial injuries. My systolic blood pressure was 56. I was kept in for 3 days and discharged but was told further investigations will take place as they suspect I have syncope. It took nearly 1 year for me to receive a tilt table test which I had in April 2022. In May 2022 I was diagnosed with Vasodepressor syncope by a cardiologist and was informed that my brain is not receiving enough blood supply. My normal systolic blood pressure is 88 and below every day. This has impacted my daily lifestyle: I feel extremely fatigued, extreme brain fog (I feel like as I am on a completely different planet 90% of the time and under the influence of drugs which I don’t consume), difficulty in concentrating, brain is extremely slow. I was signed off from work in June 2022 to July 2022 but I got bored at home not doing anything so I went back to working from home. I have noticed how slow my brain is and it is starting to slow down even more like a laptop dying . I have no idea what I do when I am supposedly working as even I can’t justify what I have been doing for the whole day sat in front of the laptop. Where I used to complete 20 plus tasks per day I barely manage to do 3 tasks. Since 2017 / 2018 I have not had a MRI or CT scan. I also experience electrical currents running down my face for a few seconds at random times.

The glands in my neck and throat always feel like they are swollen but they are not I feel like someone is strangling me. Due to the extreme fatigueness I can barely walk. I can now only manage a 30 minute walk at snail pace. My head feels like it is too heavy for my neck to carry. I experience neck and shoulder pain.

I have tried medications, hijama wet cupping my head and body, currently seeing a herbalist.

Does anyone else experience this or can give advice on how to increase brain performance. Thank you.

Sorry I am just adding to this as I forgot to mention, I rarely sweat and when I do it’s just a droplet in between my upper lip and nose area and I rarely feel warm. I am always cold. Even at 30 degrees Celsius as outside temperature I am either sat in my thick dressing gown or a thick cardigan. I feel warm at 32 degrees Celsius and above.

I have also been told this year by my dentist that I have TMJ, I am waiting to see someone in a maxofacial unit.

Hi. I wonder how efficiently you were breaking down and getting rid of chemicals and general waste products. Could be any/all of your biotransfomation (detox) pathways aren't working well. Has anyone looked at methylation or B vitamins, particularly B12 and folate, and glutathione? If methylation was already a bit slow, covid may well have made the problem worse. (And it may also have triggered any autoimmunity, POTS, mast cell dysregulation etc). You may find Datis Kharrazian's huge book on brain function 'Why Isn't my Brain Working?' of interest. Best wishes

Hi, Thank you for responding. I have been told that my b vitamins including b12 and folate results are normal. I have no idea if methylation and glutathione have been checked or what the actual values are. I was prescribed with Fludrocortisone which I took for two weeks but started getting side effects such as abdominal pain, pain radiating from my stomach to my back (both kidney areas), burning in stomach, decreased urine output, muscle pain and itchiness of skin. These are the only symptoms I never had before. Apart from this I pretty much had most of the symptoms listed as a side effect of this medicine already and I still have them. It has been 4 weeks since I stopped taking this medicine. Overall I have lost a lot of weight in a short timeframe and I have never participated in a weight loss diet in my life. I recieve comments such as your ankles are the size of my wrists not that it bothers me as it is what it is. I recently turned 32 and I weigh 40kg. I have always enjoyed eating a big fat greasy burger / takeaway food 3 times per week and still do. As you can imagine, not knowing what your options are to permanently fix these issues or how to increase blood flow to my brain and feeling like I am someone’s lab experiment has impacted my mental health. Thank you for recommending this book, I will definitely have a read of it.

I agree with Batty1 that you need full thyroid testing, but you are likely to have to do that privately. See what your doctor will offer, but it is most probably only going to be TSH, which is not enough. (Medichecks are good and do regular offers). Likewise with B12 and folate (blood tests for those can be really misleading, especially if you have ever supplemented). Can I suggest that you get copies of all your test results from your doctor/s and hospital/s? I am afraid it is the only way to get an idea of what has been done, what has been missed, and to track your results over time. Often we are told that something is normal, when what they mean is that it is within the reference range. That is not the same as optimal for you, or optimal for anyone, so getting a bit of understanding of where healthy people generally sit in the range, and whether you are high, or low, or going up and down, will be useful as time goes on. Certainly that has been my experience. Methylation and glutathione are not things the NHS will check, so a bit of reading may help. Your herbalist may know about them. Personally I'd be asking for a coeliac check if you haven't had one, doing full gluten intolerance testing privately if that is an option £, and then looking at an anti-inflammatory autoimmune type diet. You will be cold, as your body as also not getting the blood flow it needs, not just the brain. You need steady, reliable oxygen, glucose and stimulation. Could be your blood sugar, could be hormones (oestrogen or thyroid), could be stress. But gluten is likely to be playing a part. The book is huge, but really worth reading. Getting vitamins and minerals optimal should help the TMJ. Best of luck.

Hi, thank you for your advice. I have been quite productive this morning and requested a copy of all my GP and hospital medical records. I am currently looking into the tests you recommended having done.

Has anyone had a blood test done from

privatebloodtests.co.uk

Thank you 😊

“The glands in my neck and throat always feel like they are swollen but they are not I feel like someone is strangling me”

You need to have a full thyroid panel done (TSH, FT3, FT4, T3 and Antibodies) have tests done early(9am) fasting for most accurate results.

Many many years ago I would pass out just casually walking would go temporary blind and vertigo attacks that just destroyed me and a million of other unexplained occurrences and suffered for years living like a zombie one test after another. I had the tilt table (Orthostatic Blood pressure) was that diagnosis and list goes on forever.. insane how much I suffered and I always felt mentally slow. Fast forward to 2016 when my swollen thyroid decided it was going to act up and I was finally after many years diagnosed with thyroid cancer (not saying you have cancer) once my thyroid was removed all those horrible things like passing out and vertigo stopped…. I believe I had thyroid issues for many years ignored by my healthcare because all my issues couldn’t be that simple …. Well they were.

I still have my struggles living without a thyroid its much different now.

Hi, Thank you for your comment. I really do hope your issues get resolved and you lead a pain free life. I asked my GP if my thyroid levels had been checked 6 weeks ago, I was told they are normal as they were checked in 2020. I only just acknowledged my GP was happy 6 weeks ago with data obtained 2years ago, things can change. Thank you for mentioning this as god knows if I would have even acknowledged that my thyroid test took place 2 years ago. I will definitely return to my GP and ask for another test.

The best advice I can give you is when a doctor tells you that your blood test are normal get the actual results and look for yourself. I lived a long time with many debilitating issues only to be told by multiple doctors my blood test are all fine and I believed them only to develop many more issues that destroyed my health completely which everything eventually lead to my thyroid cancer and looking back through the years of blood test I had left me really mad because my issues might have been resolved if the reacted to my blood test properly.

I wish you luck on your journey to health.
