Doing well with Bladder Cancer

I have written several times over the last couple of years. In Jan., 2016 a tumor in my right kidney was found to be papillary urothelial carcinoma (typically bladder cancer). My kidney was removed and few months later, I had tumors in my bladder and prostate. Those organs were removed, they created a urostomy and it was hoped that I might be "cured". My next scans showed that my cancer had metastasized to my lungs. At this point, my doctors thought I had a year or two to live. I then began 16 rounds of platinum based chemotherapy, until it was starting to damage my sole remaining kidney. After that they decided to try Pembrolizumab (Keytruda). I am happy to report that after 9 months of Pembro, my most recent scans show no sign of cancer anywhere. My doctors and I are reluctant to say I'm cured, but this is definitely encouraging news.
