Hi,

I don't have that problem but I do have TMJ which I gather often goes with Fibro

Fibro does seem to make sensitive teeth even worse, and some of the medications we take can cause problems with gums as well.

Your best bet would be to go and have a good chat with your dentist. They can apply solutions to your teeth to reduce sensitivity, and also advise you about care of your mouth, etc.

I know a lot of people are terrified of the dentist, but there's really no need. Modern dentistry doesn't involve pain, or even much discomfort, and if you are especially nervous or sensitive, tell your dentist about it.

Dentists make a great effort to help patients feel comfortable and confident - because let's face it, wouldn't you hate to go to work each day and feel that everyone you met loathed and feared you? :(

I hope you manage to find answers to your problems.

I don't have any problems but as jilly mentioned she has TMJ that a few people on here have and also a few people find they grind their teeth in the night which has got to such a problem they wear mouth guards at night...

As its a new problem or a worsening one have you been back to your dentist to check everything is ok .... About 5 years ago I got terrible pains in my jaw and found at the grand old age of 43 one of my wisdom teeth had just decided to grow in and was growing sideways and causing the pain....

Thank you all very much for the quick reply's, been to dentist everything is OK. I also suffer from TMJ but I never thought of putting down to side affects of meds, I will have to look in to this more if I find anything that is helpful I will post it on here. Thanks again :-) xx

it is not nice and so i try use very sensitive tooth pastes and i was given corsodyl too as i bleed a lot aswell and sometimes i think its coming from some where else as quite a lot at times.

i sympathise and see the Dentist to ask why too .

Trigamal neuralgia is not nice either and i do suffer on/off it can come for days each day but not a constant thing.

Hi teeth and fibro well - I thought I had good teeth up until the last couple of years my teeth have started to crumble I have to wear a mouth guard at night to stop me clenching, which in turn is supposed to stop my enamel from cracking and help protect my teeth, not happening though. Good luck with your teeth x

Hi corsodyl dental gel helps a great deal. It has been out of stock for a while on the high st but I think the supply problem may have been resolved now. If you can't get it in Boots try looking on Amazon for online pharmacy. Thats where I got some.

I have had tmj for a long time, also due to meds have had teeth crumbling and a lot of tooth and gum probs. Dentis was good and sent me to maxo facial dept in hosp where they did tests for sjorgrens (neg) and lichen planus (pos) that is a sore mouth due to a condition.

My teeth become extra sensitive on a regular basis, and the roof of my mouth also.

I've also been seen at the maxo facial dept, where they took an x-ray, and I had

a splint made to be worn at night to prevent grinding.

It's the tingling, numbing sensation I find really irritating. Like an injection wearing

off after dental treatment.
