I have severe Fibro and have been bed bound for months with that and covid effects. My GP has suggested HRT - I had a hysterectomy in 2004 so well through the menopause without symptoms. My GP has seen great results in another patient and wants me to consider it. I did read a medical study that backed up what my GP said. Has anyone else tried this? Would love to hear about your experience.

HRT for fibro? Anyone got experience?
Hi there- an occasional lurker on this board. So this certainly backs up my experience. Fibro diagnosed 2014, hysterectomy at age 45 in 2019. Suffered terribly with a multitude of symptoms between those years which were, in retrospect I think a combination of peri menopause and fibro. Started on oestrogel and testosterone and slowly have improved considerably. I can work full time and exercise, mentally much more alert, pain is reduced (not gone and I also have RA and sjogrens which doesn’t help!) but I no longer have to spend days in bed exhausted and in pain. Also HRT protects you from a number of nasty things as you get older! My experience has been super positive. I hope that helps!
Replacing hormones we have lost has got to be worth a go I think. I'm on HRT including testosterone. You can soon stop taking if doesn't agree but I think it's well worth a go for you. Best of luck x
Hrt helped my menopause symptoms but did absolutely nothing for my fibromyalgia
Yes it helped me
I would give it a try. When I was diagnosed my sister who is an advanced practitioner for cancer patients did some digging about, she found information regarding the use of HRT and the benefits. I have asked a couple of the Gps at my practice and been poo pooed.
Thanks so much for your helpful comments. I’m going to try it. Any advice about patches versus tablets?
