Hi Louda, Is the first time this has happened. I would say see your doctor and get it checked out. I have dizzy speels quite frequently having being told I have Meniere's. I take tablets which help a little but I have to be careful not to turn too fast or I end up on the floor.Anything that doesn't normally happen should always be checked out. Have you had a virus, heavy head cold ?. Also do you have a thyroid problem ?. I was diagnosed with underactive thyroid after having these strange dizzy spaced out feelings. Hope you can get it sorted. x

Hi Louda, I have dizzy spells too but yes as mentioned above you should get it checked out. Some people [myself included] suffer with orthostatic intolerance, bit of a mouthful, common in CFS/Fibro, but basically if you get up from sitting, sometimes blood isn't pumped quickly enough to the brain and causes you to feel dizzy.Just have to take it steady :)

My experience of this is like being drunk and unsteady but without the happy

sensation that goes with it! I hate having to crouch down and get stuff out of

kitchen cupboards, or reach up either.

It's really horrible and scary when you have this feeling, in the past I've just

had to sit perfectly still for hours till it settled. Just forcing myself out of bed

some mornings has been traumatic.

For me this isn't accompanied with a headache, more a sensation in my head,

usually the room doesn't spin.

My eyes can 'bob' if I focus in a certain direction, causing more unsteadiness.

The last time I went to an optician, she detected an abnormality, wouldn't

finish the examination and asked if I would like to be referred to the local

hospital's eye department.

I was referred, definitely do something if there's anything unusual with your

eyesight.

Best wishes

Beryl

I have suffered from those for 9 years now.

Visual disturbances , shaky vision where i can see my eyes twitching.

Doctor told me i was hypoglycemic and to drink a sweet drink and lye down till it passes.

Sometimes that can be hours or even days.

Worst attack i had was during a work solutions interview, was embarrassing they almost called an ambulance. Did me a favor since then they have treated me with more respect and keep telling me I should be on ESA.

Other than Fibromyalgia Iam a healthy 47 year old guy.

LOL sorry made myself giggle.

Hi Louda I have suffered with dizzy spells on and off for many years. There are two definite causes for me, firstly the start if a migraine and secondly postural hypotension. As I spent time tending my woodburner, I come up and then have a really peculiar feeling, it's like a wave of giddiness going through my whole body from the top of my head to my toes. I recover very quickly and my dr. has put it down to low blood pressure........hope you get to the bottom of this very quickly Foggy x

Hi, I had regular dizzy spells when I was taking gabapentin, it's eased off since stopping. (Although I sometimes suffer from labyrinthitis/vertigo which has a similar effect, but even when I was lying down.) Hope it gets fixed soon.

I've had this for the last 2 days. I was feeling a bit strange while I was sitting down and when I stood up I was really wobbly on my feet, lurching from side to side, my ears were buzzing & I was light headed. When I bent down to put the cat's food on the floor I nearly collapsed and had to struggle to stand upright again. Last night it was even worse. I had some fish on my plate that I hadn't eaten and when I went to put it on the ground for the cat I completely lost my balance and ended up on the floor. I didn't pass out it was just really, really scary. I went straight to bed after that because I didn't feel safe out of it. This morning I was a bit better, not feeling light headed but still feel really wobbly & shaky.

I started back on pregabalin the previous afternoon so don't know if it's that or the Fibro getting worse again.
