Hi everyone hope everyone okay? Just wondering if anyone else suffers with bought of dizziness, confusion? Like the buzz when your drunk is the only way I can describe it my balance is totally off, I only have a part time job but I just couldn't think. I felt like as if I wasn't making sense like I was having a brain malfunction 😂 this probably sounds silly but just wondering does this happen to anyone else I get it when I'm laying down trying to go to sleep. It's like the sort of thing were when you get up off the chair to fast but when I'm lying down
Dizzy: Hi everyone hope everyone okay... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Dizzy
Blimey no wonder you fell over , Yes I get this a lot Fibro does this to a lot of us x
Why does it cause dizziness?
I've experienced dizziness and confusion and sometimes I forget things but I don't understand why.
Sally if you are taking medication of any kind this will make you Dizzy Plus I'm assuming your young and over thinking about the horrible pain confusion galor will happen to you, You want a life and Fibro takes part of you life away and that's not fair x
Yeah I'm 17 and it doesn't take any part of my life away what so ever I still get on with things and try to push threw the pain as best I can. Don't get me wrong I've had my fair share of set backs and been in a lot of pain but it's pointless letting it take over any part of my life. You've just got to get on with things.
And no one on here should allow it to take over part of your life or stop your from doing things that you enjoy or want to do. If you've got a goal and you want to achieve it don't let fibromyalgia get in the way of that because I don't let it stop me from doing things.
Well good on you Sally that's great to hear that from you , and I congratulate you for being so strong ,I thing if you keep good mindfulness , eat the right food such as Avacado , Ginger, Fruit , plenty of greens Basically eat a Mediterranean diet All this will help you combat fibro Remember Sally there are quit a ew of Elderly on this foriam who find things really hard , some have Tinatass too and other things wrong x
Right I have other things wrong as well, I'm not offending anyone by speaking my mind and saying the truth
Yea I agree that's the way forward I'm certainly not afended of any thing you have siad That's why we're here Sally to listen and help Every one does There best
Are you uk based?
Yea just out side London You ok Sally ? Iv been told of for swearingOn the foram
No I'm not actually
O dear what's up can I help at all
Stop being condescending.
Who is being condescending Sally? Are you ok?
Sally I don't even know what that means I'm sorry you seem to have a dislike for me , I'm leaving the foram Any way Every person with Fibromygia gets there moods not matter what age they are I only hope and wish the best for all people with fibro Good buy
Don't worry about it Erny people won't hate you because you swore.
All the time. Can never be sure whether it's the fibro itself or the drugs or the tiredness. Was at work today and had to go for a lie down in the first aid room - too tired and fuzzy to focus on anything. My balance is awful, but that's probably the broken ankles!!!
Agree it's worse when tired,
I was diagnosed with Labryntitas last year, horrid time. Under control now, know the signs of a attack and what to do.
Think people thought I had hit the bottle! hahaha
Worth getting it checked out though
Beginning to wonder myself now if connected!
Hope the dizziness eases up for you
I learnt I had to walk slower, and not turn head so quickly, to turn body instead, nightmare crossing roads,
Look right, look left, and right again, by that time more traffic!
That's the first sign I get of a flare. I start to feel dizzy, a bit spaced out, unsteady on my feet. I now take it as a sign to take strong painkillers, and go straight to bed.
Took me a long time to learn though.
P.S. I don't take any prescription meds, and am very careful what I eat and drink ( as I react to so many things) so took me a long time to realise it is fibro kicking off, not anything else
So it is fibro related?
Bed is best place when it happens, safest place, if you are not being sick, yuk!
Hope you have a better Friday x
When it first happened I went to the GP. I also had shortness of breath and when I thought about it I had a few other symptoms--- coldness, fatigue, goitre in throat. GP did run tests--- chest X-ray, ECG and bloods. Nothing showed up . I had private blood tests done which showed low B12, GP wouldn't do anything so I treated myself. Eliminated some symptoms.
It took another year and a half of feeling unwell until I eventually saw a Rheumatologist privately and got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia.
It is important that your dr rules out other causes of symptoms. It's so easy to put everything down to fibro.
When everything else had been eliminated, I found watching how symptoms developed and what I did either helped or hindered, I was able to see that the dizziness, feeling a bit spaced out was the first sign of a flare and not anything more serious.
Make sure any other causes have been ruled out.
Hi Hidden
Reading your comment, I wondered if your GP had considered Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome ....see link;
nhs.uk/conditions/postural-...
I have had this as a condition associated with Fibromyalgia as some of us can suffer from Dysautonomia
I have provided the NHS link out of interest as to whether you feel the symptoms are similar or not ..... do keep us posted
Emma
Thanks for the link, the symptoms seem to fit.
Unfortunately my GP shows total disinterest. Even before all this started I went twice ( with headaches , then with a UTI)
Headaches were due to a rotated spine. G.P didn't even examine me, fobbed me off with " a different type of migraine-- try aspirin" Chiropractor spotted it in seconds, several sessions later it was corrected & has been fine since.
G.P refused to give me antibiotics as he said UTI was antibiotic resistant. Which was strange as I obtained them privately and it responded within 3 days. Totally cleared in 7.
I don't bother going any more, treat myself and the goitre has shrunk with Kelp supplement.
Fibro has died down since the weather cooled down and I'm just sticking with all the supplements I take--- and advice given on here !
Glad you found it of interest
I would seek another GP - I had to move surgeries due to ignorance and disinterest. We shouldn't have to but we often do
I agree, I also think Thyroid is linked too I supplement with B12, vit D, magnesium and K2 got to support our selves as much as can.
I am hypo, low in B12 and Vit D, Gp ok with my supplements
Hi Katie0816
In my opinion, it could be something caused by many different possible reasons depending on your medical history or medications etc. I wonder if it might be worth considering mentioning it to your GP
I commented above that people with Fibromyalgia can sometimes suffer with Dysautonomia and I myself have had problems with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome ...I have provided the link below out of interest;
nhs.uk/conditions/postural-...
Do keep us posted and it might be worth trying to make sure your hydrated if you are feeling dizzy ....
Emma
Ye I get that a lot. Even before I was on any meds. You know if you point light at a glass prism or something ant the light shatters in all directions. That's how my mind feels. Its horrible when your talking and suddenly have no idea what your talking about or what you've said and if what you've said has anything to do with the conversation. I'm trying to buy a house and I forget words. I think I'll have to commission my solicitor to play find the word in my contract with him lol
Hi Katie0816 it could just be an ear infection - not to be sneezed at as my nephew ended up in hospital fitting 'cos of an untreated ear infection that ended up as mastoiditis. Get it checked by your GP.
