Dear David,
I personally sometimes get spells whereby I cannot get out of bed for fear of fainting. I go very pale , cold sweats, light headed and almost exhibit signs of shock. I have been to my Doctor and I am awaiting an appointment with London. The thinking is it may be POTS , please see link below.

However. I am not suggesting this is what you are experiencing and I would recommend going to your GP to discuss your particular symptoms as their are so many possibilities as to what it could be. I just thought i would mention it out of interest.
Silly joke to follow , mine was possibly brought on by pregnancy so think you are safe in that respects ! ! lol
I will be interested to hear what the GP says and please do keep us posted
All the best
Emma
One of the causes of fibro appears to be PC3 (Post Cervical Cord Compression) a disorder in the spine at neck level which can cause dizziness.
There are, however, many, many causes of dizziness, and if it's persistent, it's worth having it checked out by your GP - just to be on the safe side.
Hope you get better soon ... Love ... Moffy xxx
That is really interesting, thank you. x
I have dizzy spells and they are normally when I have overdone it, had increased symptoms, especially type of headache, fog, where dizziness increases, lightheadedness and balances problem. I have ME also.
Could be middle ear infection. I had one many years ago. everytime i stood up, I fell over! Lasted several days before i got diagnosis! No other symptoms though. it was weird, but easily treated. don't panic - but do get it checked.

As part of my Fibro, I get sever periods of virtigo (dizzy spells) these can last from minutes to hours and are very dibilitating for me as I can't do a thing no reading or watching tv. I spent 6 months a while ago just sitting staring at wall. I have tried every med available for virtigo and no help at all so just have to stop my life completely everytime I get an episode. I hope your only getting little spells but you can ask to see a virtigo phisio who will give you exercises which help a bit x
Sorry to hear you have frequent vertigo spells. I am seeing a physio soon for another problem and will talk with her about my dizziness! x
Hi Davidshelby and hi to all others
I also suffer from really bad dizzy spells, went to see GP and after exam was diagnosed with BPPV which is Benign Positional paroxysmal Vertigo, which is bits of debris floating in the inner ear and can be moved with exercise, then after about a couple of months it got worse so I was sent to ENT specialist who sent me to another specialist who carried out lots of balance tests and found that I had had an injury to my inner ear ( I had a bad fall some time before) so you should go and see your doctor for advice, you never know.
Yes, that was also my diagnosis but the specialist simply told me and discharged me! I also had a really bad fall which was the result of a dizzy spell so will ask to be referred to a different specialist! x
