Good morning to you all.I've been diagnosed with fibomyaigia in 2020

But I am getting real dizzy it's lasted for a couple of weeks now at first I got up at night and couldn't walk at all in a straight line everything was spinning so scary. The doctor said I have Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Just wondering if anyone has had anything like this.

Kind regards Michelle

Good morning and welcome. Myself and quite a few members suffer with it or something similar. I hope your GP has been able to help you.

If your asking is it part of the fibro I would say not.

Yes sorry I was asking if it was one of the conditions of fibomyaigia. Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have bppv. When it flares, I get the Epley manoeuvre done at local hospital and it settles down again.

There are also exercises online that you can do at home

Yes I too suffer with dizzy spells & was told it was vertigo but just recently when it happened I took my blood pressure & it was extremely high. I am on BP tablets but the doctor changed them & increased the dose & im glad to say it has settled down.

Sudden head movements are not a good idea & I have to get up slowly from a lying down position.

Hope you feel better soon 🤗

I have also been diagnosed with vertigo a couple of years ago, i only get it occasionally, but about 2 months ago i had 2 bad attacks that lasted a lot longer than the others and within 2 days of each other

Yep! Hazel A ... is absolutely right. Epley manoeuvre WILL fix it and it is online as she says. Five minutes with a friend or partner beside you talking you through it - maybe with a sick bowl first time just in case and to stop you falling off the bed during the last one minute change of position.

It is just how your brain receives signals from the 3 semicircular canals in the ear. The crystals that are inside the proper balance canal have got into the wrong one and are giving your poor brain the wrong message. - The manoeuvre - which puts your head at a forty five degree angle puts this right. - It's very frightening when this vertigo happens first of all. - Treatment trick is to get the head angle right and the online vids tell you how. Watch two or three of the five minute vids to see which one you want to work with.

Knowing this technique would empower your doctor or practice nurse too. There is too much info for them to have learned everything these days. Get better soon. I did and so relieved. If you get the chance. Share with them.

I had this just over a year ago and I haven’t been right since I think you should see a ent doctor if things don’t improve I payed privately to see a ent doctor because the waiting list was so long but you can get lots of help from them . and also get a hearing test done mine was caused by a virus and it has left me completely deaf in my left ear .

Hope yours gets better soon
