Just had my first physio app and it seemed to go well, but I was told mypain was due to my pelvis being in the wrong position. I walked home with my pelvis ibn the correct positio but its worse. The pain was unbelievable and still hurts. Has anyone got any advice or similar experience? :s

I've been for many physio appts for other health problems and my Fibro but just end up coming out worse off! I often wonder if they know what they are doing! In the end I stopped going as they found my knee was not in the correct place but I couldn't tolerate what they were doing and just gave up and asked my Fp to refer me somewhere else! Good luck..xi

If something is in the wrong place and you move it back - it will hurt!

My physio tells me that with perseverance the pain will decrease, and eventually go away altogether.

I had this problem with my neck, and after first doing the recommended exercises, I really thought I was dying. Physio told me to do the exercises very much more slowly, gently and frequently, so I tried that and I am now improving - less pain, and better range of movement.

Maybe you could take some pain killers an hour before doing your exercises, then lie down and relax for a bit afterwards? It seems to work for me.

Hope this is helpful!

Did the physio give you any aftercare suggestions?

As Moffy said, if your pelvis really was mis-aligned, then moving it back could be painful because muscles and fascia will have to stretch from having tightened up in the wrong position. You may also be using muscles you haven't used properly in some time.

When do you go back? Make sure you feed back to the physio about how it feels so they can adjust treatments and exercises for you.

Thanks everyone. I am persevering at the moment. All I was told was to tilt my pelvis in the correct position and frequently stretch my leg muscles. Next app is in a month.
