Why does fibro fog always occur at the worst moment.......

Ok we all have fibro fog but WHY doesn't it occur when it's not important .. If you forget to make the bed its not such a big deal... But oh no it occurs to make us look and feel so stupid.... I just phoned my Gp to order repeat prescriptions.. Managed to mix up the words of two medicines and then forgot my name......

I am sitting down thinking why am I in so much pain today .. I have taken my meds ... Then I look at the table and there are my meds sitting staring at me.. Yes I got them out of my pill container then put them down and forgot to take them .....

Ah well it can only get better from here

Hoping everyone else is less fogged

VG x

I called a taxi, and couldn't remember my own address!

Moffy xx

I can never remember my age! But I'm not sure that's anything to do with fibro - lol. More a refusal to acknowledge that I could possibly really be - er , what was I saying...?

Never mind!

Like the time I was chatting to someone I know very well but forgot his name it took me a few minutes to remember - and he was my older brother!

I got accused of that once when I was school age. I had caught the bus and not expecting to see anyone I knew hadn't looked. He asked me if I was ignoring him on purpose. No I just hadn't noticed him.

oh VG I know , getting the words mixed up ... why did I say that ? I think to myself some days.

I personally think the 'Christmas Charades' all year is very amusing in our house !

Trying to explain with my hands and the odd comment 'that thing , you know ' etc

Get there in the end !

Oh thank goodness some else uses a certain phrase... "That thing " ... For me its "wotsit"... And yes I have been pelted with bags of them from time to time by my family ,... Who then look innocent and say , but that's what you said......

VG :(

I do tthat too, and usually find what I think is the right name or word only to find people laughing and saying "Oh you are so funny " er Why ! not a clue as think I have the right word lol x :-) What I do hate tho is when someone tries to guess what you are trying to say....and its nothing like it !

At least we get to giggle about it all x

When i forget something I wanted to say my hubby helpfully throws suggestions at me...none of which are right and then put me off track completely!

The worst one I had was a couple of years ago before Fibro was even suggested by my GP. I was in work (I worked in childcare) and needed to speak to my boss about trouble I was having with two of the children in my care..I arranged a meeting with her sat down to tell my tale and couldn't remember either of the children's names, this got me so flustered and embarrassed that I couldn't explain what I wanted to and kept forgetting what I wanted to say.... Thankfully my boss was lovely and even though I came across as a complete fool I kept my job!

no it's two men in a pub and one says something and pauses, the other jumps in to finish it. I can only remember the risque one just yet but it ends innocently.

Iwas leaving the room after seeing my gp.

he said "take care" and I replied "and you love" !!!!

he laughed and I said "goodbye to you Doctor" in my posh voice.

I've parked the car in one car park and then when I've done my errand, gone to a completely different one to come home. I nearly have heart failure because I'm convinced it's been stolen. I've even had one dear old lady try to help by retracing my steps with me! I kid you not...it's so humbling...

OMG I am so glad someone else has done this. I nearly had heart failure when I went to the Asda car park expecting my car to be parked in the disabled bay and it wasnt there, I was looking for ages and ages (well it seemed it) then all of sudden I realised I had left it in the furniture warehouse car park instead so I didn't have to go through the traffic lights (daft or what) relieved that my car wasn't stolen but felt so dam stupid

I had a good example today. I had shown my ex a Valentine's card at the till and when I paid for my shopping was given a voucher to use by the 10th March. I said to him that's not much use, it's the 14th now. Yes he said the 14th of February.
