The diet / help buddy system we started at the new year really does work...

As you all may have noticed and some may still be celebrating I was off the board for a few days due to extreme neck pain... Turns out I have arthritis in my neck and am on steroids for it... Argghhhhh I thought but I am on a diet and losing weight.... Will this counteract it ... Will I be able to lose weight... Should I give in... I emailed KAZF to whimper and find excuses not to carry on the diet... FORGETTING in my very first email I told her to IGNORE any such pleas and true to her word she has as you can see.........

So the buddy system works......

Hehehe - sending a bag of chips and a LARGE fruit cake!

Moffy (super spy and diet saboteur extraordinaire) x

Haha! That will teach you VG! lol! Love the pic! So Kaz thinks you don't mean it now, she will be really confused, as are the rest of us! ;)

After the steroids have kicked in and hopefully you feel a lot better, you can then concentrate on becoming the little fishy in the goldfish bowl. Now in the mean time, have a cuppa and a couple of biccies! :P

Bless you!

So, my earlier reply to this thread has disappeared! I suspect Moffy - self-confessed saboteur - where did you hide it Lady?

Buddy system is alive and well - and working for me! Thanks VG. Not sure about the pic - I assume the little fish is meant to be me - you haven't seen my whale-like proportions! Although, come to think of it, as i have lost over a stone since end Nov (stress, not dieting! NOT recommended!) Maybe you're right, I am turning into a little fishy. (swims away happily, humming to self)

Of course the little fish is you Kaz you can tell that by the expression on your face ... Resignation that you are stuck with me until you change your email addy... The weight is still coming off... Slowly and steadily

my GP referred weight watchers is going well after the initial 1 lb gain at Christmas eventually got my head around their points system and have lost 10lb now.how much has everyone else lost?

The GP referral service is brilliant it'll end up saving the nhs lots of money because the slimmer we are,the less ailments people seem to have in general. It's available for slimming world as well and you get 12 weeks free groups and weigh and 16 weeks free online support. I've found the support really good and have valued being able to chat and get to know other people as well (I'm a billy no mates and don't get out much!) The only clause is that you have to lose a certain percentage of your starting body weight over the 12 weeks and then you can get more vouchers if they are available.Like a lot of people I'm on benefits so I'd never be able to afford the subscription myself.

vg did you not see any of the cyclists in the olympics? they wear lycra and if you think robbers wearing stockings over their faces look bad - lycra does no favours!

Make sure your glasses are well-polished, VG - you don't want to miss anything. Or you could use binoculars! Mx

I am into day three of my diet and I will be honest and say why I am now taking this diet seriously. As most of you know I went to see the surgeon about my foot on 15th Jnauary. What I did not say is that he used the word OBESE. Yes, I am OBESE and not helping my foot, such a horrible word but it hits home when used. So I thought I will show him. I lost 7 stone once, have put about half back on and I can do it again, take it off I mean not put it back on. Anyway I have 7st 3lbs to lose. I will not get weighed for 8 weeks now as I refuse to put myself through that, losing so much, then plateauing and getting upset over it, it does me nor the fibro any good. When I get weighed on March 16th then I will let you know how much I have lost, until then I willlet my jeans do the talking lol. I wish you all well on the diet ahead of you. I know we can all do it xxxxx

Hi and well done everyone! I would love to join a club online as I have agoraphobia as well. I didn't know you could get referred from your GP? Is that true? That would be great for me if you could. Can someone rely and let me know please xxxxxx
