Just thought i get my post in first as its next friday soon be here good riddens to 2015 a new start for me DIET and GETTING BETTER.....MY AIM LOSE THE WEIGHT AND GET MORE MOBILE.....HOPEFULLY THATS MY BIG DREAM FED UP OF BEEN FAT.. WANT TO TRY AND LOOK BETTER ....ANY TIPS ....

A very happy new year to you also my friend. I sincerely hope that you can achieve the goals that you have set for yourself in 2016. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck.

I am lactose intolerant and before I found out I thought I would lose a few pounds on the Special K diet. So I was eating two bowls a day with milk and getting really bad upset stomachs. I went to see my doctor and she told me to stop immediately, and in just 3 weeks of doing the diet I had lost over a stone. So not really recommended practice.

It may help to discuss your plans with your GP as they may give you a referral to a dietitian. Do not know if they are worth seeing as I have never been to one.

Porridge!!the very thought it as a youngster made me wretch ...truly.

Then some years ago when my blubber overtook my body my GP told me PORRIDGE started with just a spoonful then 2 etc now love my bowl of "please sir can I have some more?"

A little honey to sweeten....

Lost nearly 1 stone that way

Good luck trouble is a lot of our drugs don't help weight control

See your GP usually delighted when someone takes their lives in their own hands

Wow thats a good way i love porridge well to be honest i love food...could you tell me how many bowls aday ....as im thinking its cheaper to my budget....half milk half water.....love to aim at even 21bs ..just diesnt budge to my body...i mean two pounds ....aweek would be brillant as my mobility is limited to my legs feet spine...would love to exercise...but inable to need to shift a few stone first...thank you so much for your reply ....just looking for a easer start....and a budget i can affordxxxxx

Take a walk every day. It can be short to start with. Put the food you are going to eat on your plate then take a quarter away. ( Unless its a huge plate then you take half away !) Cut sugar down as much as you can. Cook cook cook to reduce the hidden calories in processed and prepared food.

Stretching every day. There are lots of ideas for simple excellent stretches online. Stretching is so important to wake your body up to movement as well as ensuring you don't get too stiff and inflexible. Everyone can do a bit.

You don't need fancy unsustainable diets or fancy exercise plans and equipment.

You will feel and look better very quickly.

Brillant reply yes im looking to go walk to shop now its hard coming back as my feet start to pain so i get slower but im aoming at get mobile....as its a ten minute walk there and back...but i do push myself very hard to do it....i must as im getting stiff with weight problems....and im cleaning flat like clean cant stand dirt...but im rest in between...so difficult...but i force myself to do it.....go shop now.....here goes....reply in a bitxxxxx

Use a side plate instead of dinner plate it gives the illusion that you've had a big meal, take smaller mouthfuls and chew for longer and eat slowly, grill or oven bake instead of fry and don't deny yourself anything if you want some cake have some but just a small piece as denying yourself will make you crave and then one tends to over indulge don't say the words "I'm on a diet" because this tells your body it's about to be starved and it will go into store mode, if you take sugar in your tea/coffee change to unrefined or raw cane sugar don't go for sweetners they are full of chemicals that can react with some medications, don't watch tv while eating sit at the table and have a glass of water with every meal, this way of eating won't cost much because it's what you normally eat but just less so money will go further, and one last tip stay away from ready meals and processed foods like sausages, try making your own this can be done sitting if you need too, but most of all enjoy what you eat and good luck 🍀

Thank you so much fluffy good tips im going to try some off them brought me apples to slice at nite as im having problems night time...gonna try it start to night ready for new year to start cutting carbs down...as apples be better than eating carbs got to start it as my weight is ballooning so much...and i feel so gross...not me at all...so im ask for a little support to help me stop this stupid intake...i have emptyed my cupboards yest of all the wrong foods all gone in bin....so much rubbish...i would have donated them but wrong time of year...and leaving them bagged up would have tempted me to go hunting for them no more crap.....got to eat healthy...well im gonna try happy new year xxxx

You need carbs for energy huni so have carbs for breakfast and lunch then you can burn them off during the day x
