:D Oh, VG, that did make me laugh! It's true what they say about the way to a man's heart ... no, not straight through the ribs with a sharp knife!

Malteser cake sounds delicious...where did you get the recipe from? Might have a go at that when my daughter visits, she can do the work and I'll just boss her around lol.

Hi Verygrumpy -- tell your OH if he is soooooo impatient for Malteser cake then the recipe is sooooo easy that he can make it himself!!!! Hope it turns out yummy!!! xx

Hi Jezobelle -- I posted the recipe for Malteser cake 2 days ago and libertyZ has put it on a new recipe corner, which other people have added recipes to. xx

On second thoughts VG maybe your OH should not make the cake (he might be tempted to eat all the Maltesers before adding them to the cake!!) -- so maybe get him to help -- he could crush the biscuits for you! (i smash them with a rolling pin!) enjoy :) xx

Hahaha VG, did you make your OH the Malteser Cake though! It's one way to win him over, he will be like putty in your hands lol! ;)

My hubby is asking me to make it too Phlebo, going to try it at the weekend for him! :) :P

I thought it might be like the tequila cake I forwarded on. I'd have eaten half, felt sick, added a few, the eaten the rest! however, if anyone wnts to pop round with one, I'd gladly try it - in the interests of fibro research of course!

Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my Tequila Chanukah Cake recipe so here goes. Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine this morning!!!!) 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1 bottle tequila, 2 cups dried fruit.

Sample a cup of tequila to check quality!

Take a large bowl, check the tequila again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the tequila to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the tequila and wipe the counter with the cat.....

I never let hubby read anything to do with recipes for that reason alone. It was bad enough trying to do corned beef hash with a thick topping of cheese. Now I am getting hungry xxxxx
