The end of the school holidays should've been fun and relaxing. Instead my back decided to flare up for real. Took almost six weeks before it calmed down...for a week! The doctors at a loss, my skin now reacts to TENs machine pads. Pain Management suggest acupuncture when I should be in work. Arcoxia, co-dydramol and anti inflammatory pain cream with wheat bag and rest still not working enough. Family telling me to give up work, yes I'm dragging myself in or I'll lose it. But they don't understand. I pay bills, insurance, mortgage with my small pay. We can't do without my income! They say:contact Citizens Advice, but what do I say, when I can get through to them? Any ideas?

I'm in the same position & had to finally give up work. You should be able to get some benefits to help. I hate not working but I just can't do it anymore. Hope you do the best thing for YOU!!! Make an appointment to see the CAB they are very helpful.
Good luck x
Hope you find something to help - are you able to work part time? / less time? Gentle hugs
Hi Sarah-Jane
I am so sorry to read that your back is giving you such a problem. I cannot remember but did you have an Occupational Health Assessment at work? If not, it may be worth inquiring about this? Also, have you applied for PIP? I have pasted you the How To Claim PIP link below:
GOV.UK - How To Claim PIP:
I want to wish you all the best of luck and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I've had terrible back issues too lately. Well, for years, but it's been particularly bad of late. It keeps subluxating/dislocating so as I can't stand. I was curious though - are you using the wheat bag as a cold pack, or a heat pack?
Heat pack, but could be used for cold. Find cold hurts.
Hi Sarah jane, sorry to hear you are having so many problems, I know what you are going through and it's so not easy, just a thought , have You tried Diclofenac for your back pain. I was being treated for 'sciatica' for months by my GP and tried everything , 3 times I had to call the emergency doctor in and each time he gave me an injection of Diclofenac. This gave me huge relief so my GP prescribed it, and it sure does work, turns out after many tests I have a tumour on the bottom of my spine so am now on morphine, oromorph and loads of other meds but still cldnt do without the Diclofenac. Also like you I need to make an appntmnt with CAB! So keep in touch Sarah Jane and let me know how things go, hugs to you, xx
