It's really up to you Holly, a lot of our members do have their flu jabs and many of them have other conditions as well as their Fibromyalgia. If you have any doubts as to whether you should have a flu jab or not, it would be best to have a word with your GP as they can advise you regarding this.
Here are discussions we have had recently about flu jabs, you will see other members' opinions and views on this subject here -
i had a flu jab without questions, actually it was only Monday when i had it,the way i look at it is, i already feel like i have flu constant ,i don't want to endure going through proper flu,i think it could have some serious issues, that's my theory ,so yes to the flu jab.Everyone has different views, it's not compulsory you don't have to have it ,the doctors think we have enough pain without adding to it,it's your choice, because you know if you've ever had proper flu and you are in bed from 1 week maybe 2,i'll tell you something you can't even open your eyes or lift a finger it's really bad, then it can bring on secondary illnesses,so think clearly it's for your benefit, yours careingly jacksiex.
hi inhave regular blod test but docs reeptionist { i think they take to much on themselves} always said i didnt meet thr criteria..but last week the nurse who was taking my blood asked me if i had had my flu jab..i explained about receptionist etc and she said ..rubbish! with what you have you definatly need it..two mins later another nurse came in and did it...i have ra..fibromyalgia underactive throid and low white blood cells xxxx
I and I think a few fellow fibromites on here reacted very badly to flu jab.. I had it last year and never again... I thought it was just me , but have read of others on here who have had the same negative view of it.. If it had been free it's not so bad but I had to pay to feel so Ill.
Reactions to the 'flu jab are pretty rare, but we fibromites feel any such reaction very badly. I felt very grim for three weeks after my jab, but it was nowhere near as bad as having the real thing, where I honestly didn't care if I lived or died, I felt so ill.
Personally i would rather have a month of feeling off-colour rather than EVER go thru' real flu again! Still, it is the choice of the individual!
I went to the gp, was having a bad day and fibro fog took over and ii forgot to ask! I am getting really bad with my memory and stuff recently. Simple things i forget muddle my words up or justbforget them all together. I am making misktakes in work, i work on a checkout so mistakes are not good! Thank hod i have had good customers who have handed back money when ive given to much change orvtold me when ive not charged enough
