Big ouch!

I've been having muscle twitches for about 3 months now.The last couple of weeks they have been very strange as some of the twitches have felt like electric shocks.They have also been getting more violent.Today topped them all,I was on my laptop holding the mouse when all of a sudden my right hand twitched and flew across about 4 inches to hit the laptop! I now have a sore thumb.I hope my whole body doesn't develop a mind of it's own and take over!!

Hi Amanda, yes I think there are a few of us here who suffer with the same thing. Mine is worse at night when I often manage to punch myself or fling an arm out and knock everything over on my bedside table! I hope that your thumb feels better soon!! All best wishes. Jane x

This is a common symptom of having Fibromyalgia Amanda, it's not a very nice one either. I get it myself! Sometimes it feels like a big electric shock, I get quite violent jerks sometimes of my arms and legs. Shakes, spasms, shooting pains and tremors are all quite common.

Having said that, if you have any concerns about this please speak to your GP to rule out other conditions and also to ensure you get the correct treatment and to reassure you too. It's always best to be on the safe side.
