Medical Exam from DWP in my home for DLA

Hi, I was refused DLA in July and have appealed against the decision, A Dr is visiting me at my home this week to do a medical assessment to help DLA make their decision......has anyone had this????? Thanks xxx

I had one about 10yrs ago, and in some ways this is better as they see how your home is adapted to you and your conditions, dont do anything that causes you pain or discomfort, but if you refuse telll them why you wont, good luck

Hi my friends husband did.... Gp was very nice asked to see his meds and describe how he coped during the day etc what he could and couldn't do..... Please describe your worst day... Don't say maybe I could if I tried hard.... Because he can walk quite a distance although he has to stop for rests he was only granted lowest rate dla..... Though some days he can't walk at all... He didn't emphasis this. But from his perspective the visit wasn't the ordeal he had expected.... You can have someone with you for support his wife sat with him thoughout only problem they had is they hadn't mentioned it beforehand to me so they didn't realise to describe your worst days as they are more often than good

Hi I had a visit last year and the GP was very nice and the most helpful thing was he understood my illness and problems my illness was causing me. Must better than thoses ATOS so called medical professionals.

Hi, I recently had this done but by an independent doctor not ATOS. He was very kind and went through various questions about my health and what I could and couldn't do, what affected me. Normal day for me. Examined me and tested reflexes etc. Very very good doctor, and actually noticed that my muscles are wasted in left leg and that I don't pick it up properly etc. I got HRM and middle rate care after having been reconsidered 3 times and appealing and not being able to even speak at appeal court. My husband was with me at the time as well. Make sure you impress how you are at your worst. xxxxx
