Episcleritis... eye issues.. anyone?
im not sure that what i experience is fibro related, but every now and again i get waves off distorted vision. not sure what this is.??
I've bin having eye problems like dry, runny, itchy blured vishion and eye infection on and off some of it was put down to fibro symptons.
I dont have the same eye problem but have been told I have nystagmus(think thats how you spell it) I cant feel my eyes doing it but they quiclkly go from side to side, it doesnt happen all the time .Its to do with the brain trying to send messages to the eyes to focus or something appently had it for yrs and no one told me untill recently dont know if it related to me having ME and fibro
No sorry I have never heard of it, but I did have two cataract operations (also two laser ops on one eye, I was told by surgeon that did the cataract operation on that eye that he only had 50% of my vision to work with in that eye), but the point I'm getting to that I have terrible pain in my eyes esp that one, and I am definitely going to get them both looked at, really soon, as I have double vision without my glasses, and I had treble vision before I had to get my cataracts fixed.

since i have had fibro i have re occuring ueveitis,(inflammation of the eye ball it is caused by "a dodgy gene") it is because i am HLA-B27 POSITIVE , (which has links to spondylosis, m.e ,fibro, and ueveitis, incidentally , so a eye doctor told me) it can't be got rid of just managed by two lots of drops til it dissapears for a while,i also have had episcleritis, and was told that wasn't much to worry about as it was more of a scratch on the surface of the eye and would be best left alone to clear up by itself, they sometimes give like a cellulose drop to help keep the eye moist if it seems dry
i do know when i am about to get a flare up of uevitis as my eye (or both sometimes) become so sensitive to light ,then get red, and i have to get up the hosp( i have a yellow fast track card for the eye dept) as if untreated gets worse and mlore painful and it can leave you blind
I have been having trouble with my eyes but I am not sure it is anything to do with my fibro, I think it is more to do with my unknown allergies ( oh I am so lucky ) my eyeballs swell up and look like jelly they turn an attractive dull yellow colour with a red stripe running through them, they water and hurt like hell. I have some drops for them now so at least when it happens I can do something. The first time it happened it scared me to death I thought I was going blind or my eyes were going to drop out or something, so my partner rushed me up to A&E which my GP has told me to do with any swellings because I have Angioedema, a few days later I received a letter from the hospital more or less telling me off for not going to my own doctors for "a trivial matter" that could of easily have been dealt with by them. well I thought b#gg#r you it was no trivial matter to me at the time. Ooops I've done it again sorry...
