hiya ive gone under surgery a few times with having m.e and then later diagnosed with fybro too.

it went okay except they had to keep extra eye on me and it took longer to get myself back up again after.not like other people who dont have this.

this is only my experience there could be others that have been okay?good luck.x

Hi yes I have had surgery too. I had major back surgery a year and a half ago and carpel tunnel release 5 weeks ago. I am also having the other side done next week.

I think because I am already on a high dose of co codamol things were ok and when I had my back I had a morphin drip for a bit.

As sammy38 said they will keep a close eye on you and don't worry they won't let you suffer.

hi!

i had a hysterectomy at the end of may. all i can offer is that i had NO fibro pain for 3 weeks after wards, then it came back!

They did a spinal block just before i was given a general anesthetic, so im thinking it may have been that?

Hi,

I also had a hysterectomy 3 years ago then I had had fibro for about 4 years. The nurses had to keep a closer eye on me and I also had to have morphine for a longer time than the other girls on the ward who had the same op. I was already on morphine for my fibro pain so they had to up my dose to nearly double for me to cope with the extra pain. But as long as you take it in your stride and take it easy you should be ok.

Good luck with the op and hope you are back up on your feet (as much as you can be with this condition ) very soon

xx
