if your on disability you can get bus pass, if you have higher mobility, as i have one. dont know any other way,but someone else might.

I got my disabled bus pass on the grounds that my meds make me unsafe to drive... My reflexes are shocking... I filled in the form with a passport photo ticked the box unable to drive due to meds.. Dr wrote a letter confirming this , I handed it in at the local library and they sent it off for me ... Bus pass arrived a week later valid for 5 years...

I have had a bus pass for many years now, I also have a disabled card from social services that I used as proof I needed a bus pass. Unfortunately I find now I can't even walk the distance to the bus stop ... so I can't use my bus pass. I have to have taxi's to take me and bring me back from the dr's etc. I got my bus pass when it was mostly the fibro that was disabling me ... now it is a multitude of things ... lol ...

I was given a bus pass a few years ago on the grounds of Fibromyalgia. All I needed was a letter from my GP

As far as I know a bus pass is not issued on the grounds of diagnosis but on the grouinds of hoe that diagnosis effects you. For example a person with Fibromyalgia can get a bus pass if they meet the criteria on the forms and pass the medical. I had to fight for mine despite the higher rate mobility award. It is however worth the fight should you be faced with the fight. It is highly dependant on the area and that area's policy.

Good luck

I think we can all relate to a fear of buses, I certainly can! The fear of the bus moving away before I've sat down, the fear of missing my stop, the fears are endless!

You certainly aren't alone Wevskysgirl or Louda! ;)

Hi all am i right in thinking you can get a pass by having fibro alone? im not on dla and dont get mobility as im not that bad as yet but a pass would help no end financially x
