Disability in the USA

I started to have back problems. Some days it was so bad I had to call in sick. Then I started cutting down more and more days until I had to admit to myself that I just couldn't work anymore.
At that point I applied for disability. My doctors were fully supportive of me.
I got a rejection letter, I disagreed with their conclusion so I sent in a letter to correct some of the misinformation that was on thier information that they dug out of somewhere. After my third rejection. I was able to go to a hearing.
The judge type person said that I wasn't earning enough to go into disability program. I told them that I kept working as much as I could.
He asked if I knew about disability, his final remark was that I should have applied at the first inkling of a problem. That's how this system works.
So I was able to do the last thing I could. Which was in court with a real judge instead of an administer.
The judge saw my problem and granted me disability, plus reimbursed for the previous four years.
It was a great win. The process took about two years.
Please if you have any questions please ask.
Good luck to you.
Btw, I live in CA. Each state is different.
