I hope it goes well . Your dr clearly doesn't understand either your condition or how important his support is. Do you see any other health proffessionals? Maybe they could fax somehing through? don't play down your symptoms; take your time to think; and, if they turn you down, appeal. contact the cab and see if there are any free Advocacy advisors in your area.

regards,

sandra

Is this for DLA? Do you have the Benefits&Work guide on appealing and tribunals? If not, if you can email me at info@fibroaction.org I'll send it over now

hi jodie,so glad you passed,i have mine aug ,wish it would hurry up and come now, fell out with g.p last year ,go to a different one same practice, old g.p wouldn't back me, just was nasty and condecending and more or less said fibro doesn't exist(i do also have pelvic pain, and spondylosis and myo-fascial pain and a few more as well!! i am so glad that they were nice and understanding, years ago when it was incapacity benefit, i ended up appealing (i live in york) and after months of making myself ill, and totally exhausted with the stress i went with my partner for the appeal, there was a doctor and a solicitor there i was asked two straightforward questions ,then the doc said that was it (i thought she meant for that question) but she said no that is it!!!i was in the waiting room longer than in the appeal room,10 mins later i was re awarded incapacity benefit and it was backdated!! i hope it goes ok this time ,but i am not going to get screwed up about it ,it has to happen and and as far as i am concerned i have nothing to hide,i have alot of specialists letters that they have but i don't think the dwp really read them all,so fingers crossed for me,at least now you can relax a little, treat yourself to something nice, even if it is 3 magnum ice creams!!you deserve it!!

Glad you had a good experience. I have had two assessments and both were very positive and helpful but still found the experience stressful, and worry about not being believed.
