Hi All,

Went to the hospital yesterday after having had more blood tests xrays on my knees a few weeks ago. Can't straighten the left knee and the right one keeps giving way!!!

Orthopaedic asked how i was and i mentioned my left hip as it is sooo painful, seems to be trapping the nerves in my leg and groin when i sit wrong..oh i thought you were here about your knees..well yes i am but my hip pain is far worse than my knees at the mo.

so off for a hip xray, got back to the consultant and he said as well as both knees there was slight arthritis in my hip. Tell you, going to hell on a broomstick

He then examined me and did various leg and hip rotations...ooooouuuuuccchhhh, went a bit white there i can tell you.

Had a talk about the best way to go, first line of action was a cortisone injection to reduce inflammation in gubbins in the knee and ligaments. Ok sounded good to me...till i saw the needle...f**k me i'm going to be impaled i thought, this ones going to go straight through.

He rubbed in a local anaesthetic and said oh it might hurt a bit, so i sad to the nurse...hmmm does he mean brace yourself, i know what this medical speak's all about lol, haha made them both laugh and with that it was done..phew. Had a bit of a shake on after, went home, took painkillers and muscle relaxents and fell asleep for about 2 hours.

Some pain on when i woke up with all the messing about and the injection, still if it helps ....no pain no gain.

Will know within a week how it will be, appt in 6 weeks to get the other one done all being well.

Take care

Jan H xx
