Hi Madhelen. I would love a jacuzzi. Pity we couldnt get grants so we could all have one. But one day you never know! Enjoy it if it helps you! :) Ann x

Hi I have had FM for 16 years. I now have been diagnosed with Osteo arthritis together with a bulging disc in the neck and low back. I have been doing hydrotherapy in our council pool (which is very warm) for 16 years. At first I felt so heavy getting out of the pool, found it hard to dress afterwards and went straight to bed. This went on for weeks and I thought "what am I doing I am sure I'm making it worse". Now I can do things I couldnt do before and if I miss my water exercises I end up going backwards. I was referred originally by my GP. I continue to go and it costs only £2.50 well worth it. From Hydro I now have progressed to a gentle pilates class and sometimes on my good days I go to the over 50s Zumba Gold. Keep persevering its well worth it. If I miss 3 wks hydro I feel as if I'm back to the beginning of my illness. We have to fight the fight with FM.

I've just completed 6 week course of hydro. It was painful most of the time, excruciating at others. However.... it got me moving and worked on my posture to undo some of the tightening of muscles that had occurred as a result of tensing against pain.

I learned a lot about now my body works and have loads of exercises to take away to try in my local pool to keep it up. I feel that I DO walk better now thank I did before and that is a big thing for me as I am currently trying to stay in my job and am on my feet a lot of the day.

Hope you have as good a therapist as I did
