I was wondering if anyone has been to the pain clinic and had any treatment via drips for their fibromyalgia?

I went in several weeks ago an had an Infushion which left me worse than before I started that week, I couldn't move my arms and legs very well and have been left with a dragging leg and they say it is nothing to do with this treatment and want me to try again as it could have been a flare up?

It was offered to me to help with the pain in my joints and they said it often helps people and they know before they leave the hospital if it had worked. For me it left me with terrible side effects and I am still suffering with problems with my leg dragging it feels like lead, x

Like what you have at the dentist can't spell lignocaine I think that's right . It is done over 30. Mins in a drop at the pain clinic.

Sorry it didn't help for you. I have heard of these, they are lidocaine infusions. Do you mind me asking which hospital it was or could you message me please? It's something I am considering but I think the hospital I was thinking of has stopped them now. Thanks.

i had a lidocaine infusion about 12 months ago have found out since that its a very powerful thing to have done and what makes things worse it didnt work for me and i have been left worse than ever not to put a dampner on things as i know differant things work for people.

I had lignocaine infusions for years, they helped at first except that I was always in bed with a bad migraine for a few days afterwards, then I would feel a bit better for 2 to 4 weeks. But they don't help me at all any more - according to the hospital they usually stop having any effect after a while.

I've never heard of them making anyone's legs worse so that may be a flare up. It might be worth having one more to see if it helps, but they are a very expensive form of treatment so if they don't help you, it's a waste of money as well as being bad for you.

Wishing you all the best,

Mim

Yes I have these every 4 months they help me a lot but it doesn’t really help my jaw pain I would deffo recommend you to try it I’ve met some people in the clinic who have told me it almost takes all of their pain away ,of course it obviously affects people differently.
