I don't know much about it, but this is a bit of info off WebMD which might be helpful:

Colloidal silver is a mineral. Despite promoters’ claims, silver has no known function in the body and is not an essential mineral supplement. Colloidal silver products were once available as over-the-counter products, but in 1997, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that colloidal silver drug products were not considered safe or effective. Colloidal silver products marketed for medical purposes or promoted for unproven uses are now considered “misbranded” under the law.

There is no mention of its use for Fibro, and i suspect that manufacturers may be 'jumping on the bandwagon', and taking advantage of vulnerable sufferers. You would be unwise to take it without speaking to your doctor.

Hello ladymoth :)

Thank You for responding.

I would like to say that I have read up on this too, and have found that some people with fibro have had a good go with it. One of my friends on facebook contacted me about it, because she looks after her sister whom has fibro. Her naturopath put her on it, as a natural antibiotic, as Fibro can be associated with bacteria. So far, she is getting better.

I'd also like to point out that there is Lots of 'fear' based talk about all kinds of drugs and natural minerals. Best to look at many things, and research it further before putting a full Yes or No on it.

I don't know of a proven link between Fibro and any bacteria.

Hi LindseyMid :)

I have heard of this, a long time ago. Wish I could remember exactly what the explanation was... sorry.. I'm just not functioning well enough to go into the where, when etc. I don't know if it is 'proven' either. Just saying that it was what I heard, and told, and that I was found to have a bacteria in my body.

Just a thought... what about Ross river virus etc? Aren't they bacteria's? Those kinds of things have been linked to the bringing on of fibro.

As with anything non prescription I would always advise asking your GP before taking anything.. I nearly took over the counter cough medicine and my pharmacist who knows my meds well told me it would react and not to take it...

If you GP says try it then I wish you luck with it

Thank you VG :)

I wish I had a GP whom I could talk to about my illness to begin with. I don't have that unfortunately. I just want to know if anyone else has tried it is all, and what they thought.

I'm wanting to see a naturopath from now on, as I have lost all faith in doctors. Has this thing for near on 30 years. Fighting it all the way of course.. tried all different things. Researching this one now.. to see if it has made any difference to anyone else.

Bella_Baby, if you want to go private, have you considered either an osteopath or a private consultant? Osteopathy focuses on hands-on diagnosis and some osteopaths even order private blood or GI tests. Osteopathy is discussed in the Complementary Therapies & Fibro factsheet: fibroaction.org/Pages/Compl...

Its not a case of going 'private'. Its a choice between 'normal' medicine and natural medicine.

Hi

I have used Colloidal Silver for years, both taking orally and externally. I first started taking it for recurring cysts & boils down below that antibiotics did nothing for. I had a hospital appointment to have them cut out when I came across an article about colloidal silver and bought a bottle from Holland & Barratt. I started using it that day which was a Wednesday, by Thursday evening they had stopped oozing, by Friday evening they were completely dry and by the Monday when I went to the hospital they have completely gone. This was over 4 years ago. Whenever I get the slightest tingling I use a bit of the gel, but to date they have not returned. I tend to use the spray and gel for all eternal ailments, but because I am on so much meds have not been taking it internally. I am a total fan of colloidal and use it for any external ailments. I even bought a higher strength to try on my dog as she was constantly scratching to the extent she was bleeding. After numerous visits to the vets and an absolutely fortune in vet fees where they could find nothing wrong and said she is either allergic to something in our house or has extremely sensitive skin. And yes, within days her skin had heeled up, and her scratching reduced. She still scratches, but nowhere near as much, and her skin is fine.

Hello shazzap12 :)

Thank You very much for replying to my question. This is what I was trying to get... some information from people whom have actually tried it! Thank You! :D

I also understand that there are many sources to get this mineral.. and some are dodgy. Obviously you found a source that is a goody. Awesome.

Yes.. I have seen there are different applications too.. that has obviously come in handy for you.. and honestly, it would for me too, as I too get those boils.

Again.. thank You so much for sharing your Experience with Using it. I am very grateful!

Blessings
