DLA

Ive had a social service assessment that as assessed me as fitting the critical and substantail criteria for care, what are my chances of now getting DLA

I don't think the DWP listen to anyone else to be honest, not doctors, specialists , carers or SS .

It seems to me that when you send in your forms it pretty much depends on who opens it and what mood they're in because I can't see any consistency between those who should be entitled and those that actually get it.

You should still re-apply though , I applied 3 times before it was granted 8 years ago. I'm worse now and still waiting for a decision but not holding out any hopes.

Unfortunately so much of it is more about how you fill in the forms and the wording used by your doctors, rather than your actual disability!

On the other hand, the more supporting information, the better, particularly if it goes to tribunal.

Have you got the Benefits&Work guides?

Ive got the handbook and the guide but it really shouldnt depend on how we fill forms in, some are more eloquent than others, how much should we write, I know you have to repeat yourself etc but its a mine field

Hi, I agree with Lindsey as I have applied twice and my wording means the same as Works and Benefits but in my view they are looking for key words and if they dont see these you get thrown away again. I might be wrong? Just dont give up the fight!! x

lally the willprepare acare plan for you ask for a copy keep a copy at all times send of again with this attached remember if you can do the lightet thing on the page it counts against you attach your new mobility rating it has a bearing too they dont ask for attachmeny but i attached these things and had my doctor fill out the form and give it back to me you have the right to see what they write... but i think you may just have a case now if you get a financial care package from dwp then find out about the additional funding from independant living fund but you have to have about thirty hours a week of care not sure will check my papers... petal
