SOCIAL SERVICE CRITERIA OF CARE
Hey lally, gentle hugs,
It's an eye opener for sure isn't it? I keep saying I need to contact social services for help etc., But if - like it has for you - my assessment needs all criteria - then my eyes won't just be opened - they'll be hanging out of their sockets like organ stoppers!
Love,

Hi Lally, I'm a social worker in Adult Services and meeting those criteria in the current climate certainly means you have high needs. I hope your social services department can provide the right services to meet your needs. There are lots of ways of receiving services at the moment so make sure you ask you social worker for all the details. One newish way is have a budget for your care paid directly to you and you become an 'employer' and employ your own care or arrange your own support, to support you at dates and times that are best for you.
take care

hi Jaxx, I need someone to help me with everyday needs. At min family are helping me out but they work and have their own families 2 look after instead of me. Can u tell me how I go bout getting adult services and what exactly do they help with.
Gentle hugs 2 all, Michele xx

agreed with your sentiments. but at least you were taken seriously and properly assessed. hopefully with all the help in place your day to day pressures will be lifted somewhat so you dont have to struggle on your own!
try to enjoy the help and use it to your best advantage. i have had to employ a cleaner to help me round the house. was a large dent in my pride i can tell you - however a few months on i look forward to her coming, we have a good old laugh and share things!
with love

Hi Michele, if you contact your local social services offices and request an assessment of need they should arrange for you to have an assessment and discuss the options with you. I know in the area I work we can offer support with most everyday tasks, the usually personal care, meal prep, they can support to you access the local facilities....shops, socializing ect. It depends what kind of support you need.
Hope this helps
