I have the same thing with mouthwash and now dilute it half and half with water - it's all I can handle!

I've been putting oil of cloves on my cavity with a cotton bud, now that does sting if it gets on your tongue. I also agree with the mouthwash, look around some are milder than others

my dentist told me i wasnt brushing enough!!!!! I got really paranoid. Mine are terrible, they crumbling and my gums hurt, i also get told its the smoking but thats the one thing i have left lol!

Not sure if there is anything that can help though. I did use aloe toothpaste which was more gentle but dentist said its no good for my teeth :(

I have been having aching gums since my tooth extraction almost two weeks ago

in reply toGillV

Ouch, I've had that. I think it depends on how hard they have to pull. I once had a big back tooth pulled and my jaw ached for weeks. Mine went away eventually. As long as it's not an infection with swelling and fever - which I've had once too.

Yes I am having terrible trouble with my teeth. They just break off and leave the roots in the gums or I get bits break off. I have now got a chipped tooth right at the front. I have always looked after my teeth and gums and brushed religiously and have always had fillings in my back teeth despite that but a few years ago I had the first of my teeth extracted and it seems to have been all down here since then but after I was diagnosed 8 years ago with fibro the teeth have been a nightmare. I have had a load of the roots taken out of the gums recently and still have the other side to do and that is another 5 teeth. Of course I ended up with a plate at the top and in need of a bottom one which the dentist has never got round to doing but until they do the other side of my gums I cannot have my plates sorted so I have got months yet of having a shocking mess in my mouth. I have tried to use various toothpastes and recently bought the corsodyl one but it tastes foul and burns my mouth. I have always had to water down the mouthwash in it and have the daily and the after surgery types there and use whichever I need depending on my mouth. I am not glad to hear that you are having problems but I am relieved to hear that it is not just me. I don't smoke now but did until 5 years ago and I don't drink pop but I do eat quite a few apples (usually two a day) and a banana. I also get terrible dry mouth problems which seemed to be a lot better when I was wearing a top plate but now I am unable to wear that it has come back with a vengeance so I am back to chewing gum as I can. I swear it is down to the medications we take as I am on high doses of morphine at between 200 and 260mgs daily let alone all the other things I take like diazepam and fluoxetine etc etc. xxx Hugs to you all with your teeth probs on top of all our other daily problems, xxx
